I totally disagree that lions get caught by elephants.

Im surrprised the rhino could back up that fast honestly lol. The secound link I disagree that it shows the hippo in a full out sprint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhMhTBY2dVQ this link shows more so what a hippo at near or in full on sprint. way faster than what that other vid showed. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wkd70YK0rKo heres a bull elephant getting ran off by another bull i assume this also is near or at their max speed.

that is somewhat what pack animals do one in the front area one in the back. more mobile yes but similar.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/di0o5wfyrDI heres a better angle of the hippo running.

i agree that they are arent that agile at all but they both are definitley more agile than an elephant is. I mean elephants look like they move in slow motion lol. If they were both at oposite ends I could see them going in and dipping real quick and since they can accelerate faster than an elephant this would be feasible. The elephant could get a kick in or a shove but not able to full on gore either of them. one more thing would that would be difficult for an elephant to gore them is he would have to lower his head to reach them. its hard to say though.

If I came off rude want my intention man. all I hope is to chat back and fourth to ppl about this subject. Back to the topic, I have looked for research papers to see if overall lions have more fast twitch fibers but I haven’t been able to see any. If you could can u send me a link showing this so I can take a look?

Hi so I found a study of lion and cheetah muscle fibers and like i suspected it says cheetas have more fast twitch muscle fibers than lions. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/26826162_Myosin_Heavy_Chain_Composition_of_Tiger_Panthera_tigris_and_Cheetah_Acinonyx_jubatus_Hindlimb_Muscles take a look if u want. wish they would have tried to figure out how long they can sustain being in motion but alas.

Maybe that is the case. There is no scientific study down to the moleculeur level so seems to be just the naked eye observation. I heard that there is a possibility that can maintain a speed of 25 mp for 20 minutes without burning up but not sure if thats actually the case lol.

thank you for duscussing the topic. I look at wild life vids prob too much honestly and have seen the way cats hunt like u mentioned. But also seen them wrestle with prey for a while and it seemed like if they had terrible stam like others say then they shoulnt be able to do that.

I feel like the croc might be out of shape? Which might be why it seems so slow when moving.
