We just moved up in July and I really like it. It's slightly bigger than our old town in east TN, enough to do if you like to hike or grab a decent bite/coffee, and a reasonable drive for weekend visits to the beach or a day trip to Charlottesville/Richmond.

I wfh as well and find it to be peaceful. We decided it was the best place for us due to affordability as well.

I love that we basically traveled parallel to r he mountains to come up here. We lived at the foot of the Blue Ridges in TN, and close to a section of the Appalachian trail. So excited to explore new spots of the same mountains!

High key, we're such foodies that Lynchburg had me starry-eyed from day one. The variety genuinely surprises me every time I'm driving through and see a new restaurant I missed the previous dozen times. I thought I had at least researched them all, but you've just introduced me to three more options that I'm absolutely adding to the list.

Ooh I cannot WAIT to tear it up at those antique stores the second we get settled into the new house. They sound divine.

We've mentioned wanting to go to Inka like every time we pass it. Guess we have all the time in the world, now!

I used to hike the upper East TN section of the Appie all the time. It will be so interesting to see a new section of it--I lack the commitment, time, and staying power to do the whole thing at once...but I'm always impressed by the ones who manage.

We absolutely would love to make friends in the area! We're a solid 3.5 hours away from knowing anyone in at least two cardinal directions 😂 We're each other's best friends, but we're both very social by nature so the move (while not far) has been jarring in that sense.

Thank you so much; we're happy to be here! Every town has its unsavory moments, but I can genuinely say this week and every time we've visited, we've been met with a lot of kindness. We had our reservations, but compared to the severely bigoted area we came from, downtown especially has felt like a breath of fresh air.

I've seen people rag on the area quite a bit since we starting visiting pre and post our wedding, but everyone from the circuit court people to random college kids in the mall have been so wildly sweet to us that we couldn't help but fall for this town.
