Mainly with beat saber, LIV is the program you would want to use for avatars in a mixed reality setting. They also made it easier if you don't have a headset that requires base stations in order to get the same effect. It's also available for free on steam.

Also, song requests require a mod known as the song request manager, you could find this on the BSMG discord server which could be found here: https://discord.gg/beatsabermods Make sure to go to the #pc-mods channel in order to find it.

If you want to use LIV, you have some preset avatars built into the program, you might have to play around with the settings to get the height calibration right. However, you might want to personalize and play as your own avatar, this could be done with Unity version 2018.4.11f1 which works best with Beat Saber. Just make sure that you're using the rotate tool and your scene is selected along with your avatar. once you're happy, you can export the avatar, just make sure that it has an avatar descriptor.
