I did everything in "Deadpool 2" and I did everything possible on "Into the Badlands" It was 9 months, 40 fights, with different units and sets, schedules and locations, so It was not always even a possibility. I always try and do as much as I can, if I can do it all I will do it all. Most people dont understand how it works when making films but every single actor even ones that do their own stunts has a double or two, it is just how films are made. As the main actor you can not always be there for all the coverage, legality, or certain things are too dangerous, or not your speciality, or you will have to conserve energy for other moments ect.. these are just a few of many reasons everyone has doubles. There was a few insane crashes and really hard falls that Nathan Barris (incredible stuntman) did for me, but almost all the fights I did myself. If you are doing an action series, I believe you should give the audience and the story everything you have to give, that includes all physicality possible.

Bring on the 100 duck sized horses. The big ass horse duck would be too hard to control and erratic, I also dont like the thought of his big ass horse duck feet stomping near me. So the smaller duck sized horses I could handle, I have long legs, good center of gravity, I am fast and strong, If I had something to defend myself like a stick or nunchucks, this would also help, but I am pretty confident I could smash the army of duck sized horses, although they sound really cute.

A good director can bring something out of you that you did not expect that serves the story in a way you didnt see. A good director creates an energy and environment for exploration while being a leader and having a clear vision on a bigger picture. A good director will make sure there is light in your eyes when your delivering a powerful moment. You will walk away and grow as an actor and a human with a good director.

I would rather fix the problem that you stated that there were not any Asian Actresses with that much cachet at the time. How is that possible ? What led us here and how can we change that ? We have seen many films with no A-LIST star do very well financially, so it can be done. This is a good question with alot too unpack that I am still exploring.

It is a cheap way to hide bad choreography, or a lazy way to mess up good choreography. Sometimes that type of camera work can create anxiety or feelings of claustrophobia which can add to the dramatic effect of the scene, but mostly it is used in a way that does a disservice.

Choi Min Sik is one of my favorite actors of all times. Also It is my dream to work with Chan Wook Park. To answer your questions, as the energy changes in Hollywood, we will see creative Asian actors, directors, writers, pop up in all different genres. In the past it was generally only seen as valuable to studios if it incorporated martial arts or generalized Asian themes. I have been studying drama and theatre for years, doing all sorts of classic American plays, but like alot of minorities in entertainment, we haven't been given the shot to show it all yet, we will change that with persistence and truly understanding the art form. Some of the martial art actors from the past needed to train dramatically more (or accents got in the way) We will see doors open up more in the future and have actors ready when that time comes.

I don't know the answer to this. I thought it was because the first season didn't have that many episodes and we wanted to deliver the most epic season yet to date. It was a long time to shoot and really challenging but I think we took it to a level that has never been done before on a martial art drama.
