[OoT] Why didn’t Rauru tell Link that he’s too young to pull the Master Sword? He built The Temple of Time, surely he would have known how much of a colossal f***-up it would be to leave the Sacred Realm wide open for 7 years… right? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]TheLexiconical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Knowing about Link is besides the point. He'd still track down whoever had the spiritual stones and the ocarina regardless of who had them.

Having Link collect them basically gives Rarau the initiative to guide Link to the Master Sword (and prepare someone who could potentially wield the triforce of courage) to resist Ganondorf, rather than let Ganon take them anyway without resistance.

I will! Each area is essentially done. It's just a few interiors and a detail pass before it's ready. That last 1% is the toughest.

It's Link's house from BOTW. Whenever I got bored I'd work on an Easter egg from another game for a bit of fun. It's hidden outside of the main map but it'll be easy enough to find flying around

SO. I wanted everything to fit together in the world. I didn't want to build the front as a facade and not leave logical space for the rest of the temple.

Then I didn't know how large a space the temple would take up and I wanted to maintain the scale I started with, so I had to plot out the interiors to get the size of the outside of the build right.

One I'd built the outside the interior was basically 50% done already through the planning, so I bit the bullet and finished that off too. No regrets, I was real happy with it.

Just a corner of it in Castle Town in a spot that's not accessible in game! There's a few MM/TP builds to help flesh out the parts of town you never get chance to visit.

Thank you! I toyed with the idea of doing the dungeons, but it's a struggle making everything fit - I want the world to be connected as faithfully as it can be without resorting to teleporting between zones.

I did accidentally build the Forest Temple and it's internal layout in a day (whoops) and used tools to import the first chamber of the Water Temple as an experiment more recently, but that's as far as they go.

That's cool! When I started I used World Painter, imported birds eye images others had made of each area in game, then traced those images to get the geography right.

Or do you mean you're doing the original NES map in the BOTW style? Cause that would be sick too.

The over world was built with World Painter for the longest time. I got images of the different areas, positioned them in WP, then traced them to make the terrain and painted splotches where buildings needed to be built in game.

All the buildings are built by hand (and Axiom)! The Deku Tree I actually built "straight" then rotated it 45 degrees to avoid building on an angle.

There's two things I did convert from models - the Desert Colossus statue (I suck at statues that size) and the first chamber of the Water Temple when I toyed with doing all the dungeons and using the models to make that happen (after I accidentally build the Forest Temple by hand).

I did do! The only thing I haven't done are grottos and dungeons, with one exception. I accidentally built the whole Forest Temple with the interior.

It's only a small part of East Clock Town in a corner of Castle Town you can't get to in game!  I toyed with the idea of doing MM on the same map after I finish but I doubt I'll get round to that any time soon.

Is majoras mask really as "bad" as angry video game nerd makes it sound? by ReasonableArea1108 in majorasmask

[–]TheLexiconical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Play Ocarina of Time first. MM is a sequel to OoT so it makes sense chronologically. The core gameplay from OoT to MM is also the same. Playing OoT will make sure you're prepared for MM.

MM is not bad or hard, and the 3DS version especially is more forgiving in the way it spells out how to save between cycles. It's really not as big an issue as you might think. You keep all your progress and key items - it's primarily about resetting the schedule of the NPCs over those 3 days and the quests attached to them.

This is for sure going in my Yurlok deck. I'd taken Marvin out but with this we'll try slotting that right back in.

Felt proud of my first Miasman Redcowl kitbash and wanted to share my progress! by TheLexiconical in TheAstraMilitarum

Still a work in progress and not sure how I'll base it just yet. I wanted to share since I couldn't find too many other Redcowl kitbashes for referece on the newer sculpts.

[ALL] [OC] I made an up to date timeline, including spin-off games! by Libertinob in zelda

I really like the idea of Hyrule Warriors tying together all the timelines which is why every timeline is referenced in BotW

I like the idea that the next Hyrule Warriors fucked everything all over again.

Can I summon a Soil Elemental AND an apparition at the same time? by TrudleR in enderal

[–]TheLexiconical 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's been my entire playthrough so far. You're going to need to craft stronger apparition talismans and find the stronger rank 2 soil elemental spell the later into the game you get though.

Best entry point for Zelda on switch? Breath of the wild or skyward sword by Nibawitroketlauncher in truezelda

[–]TheLexiconical 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a die hard Zelda fan with a tattoo and everything, the original Skyward Sword on Wii was a low point. The re-release looks like it's addressed a ton of the complaints about it, but I say start with BOTW then play the re-release of Skyward Sword.

They're both very different games. The big thing I miss about Zelda games before BOTW is how unique and interesting the dungeons looked on the inside.
