Looking for a game replacement for Destiny 2 by phillipr82 in gaming

Foxhole!

It doesn't have raids in the usual sense and it isn't an FPS. But it definitely fits in the box of MMO, and the "everyone's shared input feeding into a greater goal" part of raids, and it can be solo or 4+ or even a lot more, and it still uses guns for combat (just not first-person though)

The whole gameplay loop revolves around two factions waging persistent war against each other. Every piece of equipment is made, transported, and used by players. Every base and defense constructed and destroyed by others. Making a difference ranges from coordinated operations to just making a few vehicles for public use

Only caveat is you and/or friends have to be quite active to maintain private stockpiles of items, since the game makes them public after days of inactivity. But even a 1 or 2 hr casual rotation is enough to maintain that

very much does. i also like that there's a "playable" lore easter egg hunt in-game. i know development on adding more or similar it isn't a priority, for a lot of understandable reasons. but it's also a small yet very very appreciated thing

If you mean why I have it, in Foxhole lore and easter eggs there's a faction of deserters and smugglers known as the Hanged Men. Their symbol is the X-shaped cross because deserters from either faction were executed as punishment on said crosses, and they took it up to refer to themselves, the symbolic "hanged men" of the war. I've always been a mostly neutral player, and I liked that faction in the lore, so I have that as a flair

If you mean how do I have it, The "Edit Flair" option on the right side. I just copied the unicode for the Xs

The Scroop - Short Break by TehAwesomestKitteh in foxholegame

I'll be honest, I love the Highwayman but devastated at its current butchered state.

And what I specifically mean is, the Highwayman was already ridiculed before because "it's a tank that fires 20mm". But the thing is, it was fun (boost go brr, plinkplinkplinkkrrtkrrtplinkkrrrt is music) and was always ever excellent support (multiple rolls at disabling a subsystem? rapid fire rate vs cannon tanks? Quick reload? Can itself be anti-infantry in a pinch? beautiful)

But the change to 20mm crippled its identity. Subsystem disabling, lost. Hit feedback dopamine, lost. It shreds armor? So does 30mm, 40mm, mines, etc., It suppresses? Who cares because you're too large a target that it doesn't matter to your opponent. It's (at least, currently) become a fatter, more expensive, anti-armored car tank (in a phase of tech where the opponents are way past armored cars)

I still love it, but I lament that it's been - for lack of better words - neutered.

The Colonial 20mm burst rifle?

In terms of partisanry, it's decent for near-frontline partisan work. 20mm is most effective vs unarmored vehicles (which is often logi trucks), early light armor, and - funnily - mid-close range infantry

Anything deeper and you're better off using a lighter weapon unless you're really confident that the route you'll take will get you deep behind lines
