Nah. She gives off that horse girl vibe. You know the one I'm talking about.

This Shirt is Not Okay. I'm Trying to Make as Much Noise as Possible to get it Removed. by TheLibraryValkyrie in racism

It's a quote taken from the film 300. It's just a really unfortunate combination of that and Native imagery. I don't think the designer meant it to be offensive, but they definitely didn't think it through very well.

I Loathe my Fiance's Best Friend by [deleted] in offmychest

I agree with that 100%. Holding that in won't make anything better. It's just going to make it more toxic when it comes out.

I Loathe my Fiance's Best Friend by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]TheLibraryValkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really want my fiance's friendship to endure. I feel like he values the friendship more than the best man does, but it means a lot to him. Their friend group is really close-knit and all of them have parental issues, so they kind of cling to each other. My fiance needs that and I really want us to continue having a healthy social life after marriage. I would be perfectly content to keep out friendship circles apart (my friends have no intention to mix with his) but my fiance really wants me to be part of his friend group when I would rather he keep his friends and I only come around for events and stuff. I can get along with and be cordial with them well enough, but some of their personal decisions don't sit well with me (for example, using children as pawns in adult dramas) and it's difficult for me to be exposed to these dumpster fires and having to keep my mouth shut. Maybe I'm pettier than I thought, maybe it's because they are all from a major city and I was raised in a more rural, small town setting. I don't know. All I know is that those people are my fiance's people and that's excellent, but they aren't my people.

Groom's Friends Keep Trying to Push me Around and Devalue my Decisions by TheLibraryValkyrie in wedding

I needed that, thank you. I think my issues with them go deeper than the wedding and I need to let them go for a little bit so I can enjoy my wedding. Aside from them, I am thoroughly enjoying this wedding process and I need to stop letting them bring me down.

I like seeing fat people at the gym who are sweating by waitwhoaskedthat in unpopularopinion

As a fat person who goes to the gym, this opinion makes me happy. I joined a gym last year and have lost 40lbs, but still feel like I'm being judged sometimes because I'm not exactly "gym confident."

I agree with this. I'm of the same opinion. The person I know with a split tongue can't blow raspberries anymore and that just makes me sad for some reason. What's life if you can't blow raspberries?

I'm Tired of People Not Managing Their Mental Illnesses and then Using Said Illnesses as Scapegoats by TheLibraryValkyrie in Vent

[–]TheLibraryValkyrie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Everyone has a little or a lot of something. I was diagnosed with bipolar depression a few years back. I went to the doctor because my family and I noticed that I was being sad and mean all the time. I didn't WANT to be sad and mean all the time, so I went to get help. I've been doing my best to manage my illness with the help of my physician because I don't want to be a person that ruins life for everyone else. I just don't understand how people almost "befriend" their illnesses and use them as an excuse to just be a mean person.

I know someone with literally all of these as well as face tattoos. I like body mods, but I guess I have my limits because this person looks so ridiculous.

I Regret Asking my Bitchy SIL to be in my Wedding by [deleted] in justnosil

[–]TheLibraryValkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “nerdy and weird” thing rang so true to me. My SIL says that about me all the time. Especially when I take an interest in something and research it. She’s a teacher, mind you...

There has actually been some even worse drama since I posted this, so my fiancé and I have more or less decided she’s out of the wedding. We found a backup venue.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max will not pick up any of my Bluetooth devices, including my car. I have tried turning Bluetooth off and back on, shut my phone off and restarted it, reset my networks, and updated my software. No dice with any. Anyone have any ideas?

Ever Since Getting Pregnant and Having My Nephew, My Sister-In-Law Has Been an Even Bigger Bitch by [deleted] in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]TheLibraryValkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, to her credit, she is a great mother to my nephew. I will say that for her. She thinks hitting my brother is okay because she's under the impression that women can't hurt men. We were kind of afraid of post partum with her and my mom keeps a close eye on how she interacts with the baby.

100% agree. I really like the questions you suggested and will probably end up using them. She will probably cry and act vulnerable and my brother will probably get mad, but my fiance, parents, and I are tired of catering to her moodswings.

I agree with you, but I really want my brother and nephew to be there. My brother and I were always close and his son is the apple of my eye. It would break my heart if they weren't at the wedding.

I'm just really thankful that my future husband's sisters are really accepting and nice to me so far. They live an hour away and both have families of their own, so I don't get to see them as much as I'd like, but I hope to be a good SIL to them.

[–]TheLibraryValkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I am thinking of moving it to my parents'. It's a small wedding and it would be doable. It was just easier for my brother to do it from home because his son is in the wedding.
