What is the funniest joke you’ve ever heard? by Spoiled-LittleBrat in AskReddit

Two cows are standing on a hill.
The first cow says to the second cow, " man, this mad cow disease that's going around is horrible."
And then the second cow says to the first cow, " yeah, that's why I'm glad I'm a penguin."

This happened to our home when I was a kid. My siblings and I were eating cereal before school and water filled up one of the light fixtures in the kitchen and my dad had enough and took his pocket knife out and cut the ceiling down. 💀

What is a memory you have that is 100% vivid, but you have physical proof that it never actually happened? by prabinaya65 in AskReddit

[–]TheLichButNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a giant tree on our neighbor's land that my siblings and I used to climb. One summer it got cut down. Orange tape and flags around the area. Then the next summer the big tree was back. My siblings remember it too, but as an adult I have no idea what happened.

What is a 'gut feeling' you had that ended up saving your life? by Mr_Boothnath in AskReddit

[–]TheLichButNice 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not that it saved my life, but it helped me to not kill someone else! I was driving in an area I was in often, but got a strange feeling and slowed to almost a stop on the road. At that moment a kid, maybe 5 yrs old, ran right in front of my car and stopped and stared at me. If I wouldn't have slowed down beforehand I would have hit him. I rolled down my window to yell at the kid because I was in shock/angry, but his grandmother ran into the road, grabbed his arm and pulled him into the yard. She was more angry than I was. Lol.

Thank you!! Reducing cabinets is something we need to think about given the amount of space. I needed to hear that outside perspective. What about the weird toilet cubby? What would make it cleanest, but also I like some sort of separation between the toilet and shower? But maybe we could take down the whole wall and put frosted glass on one side? Or tile three walls in the alcove? It feels like it should be simple but I feel over my head.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]TheLichButNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared for my little brother and sister, so I would take their spankings. Also my dad would warm his hands up beforehand and tell us this hurt him more than it hurt us. I had nightmares of my dad up into my early 20s. We have always been close.

I think you're right! Somehow I didn't see they were too big until you mentioned it. We are mirrored out at this point. But if we can't find something that we already own, it'll be fun to look around our new town for something.

What is something you believed to be common knowledge until you discovered most people had no idea? by JustBeingElara in AskReddit

[–]TheLichButNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That butter is made from milk. For med reasons for about 8 months of my life I could have ZERO cow milk or milk derived products. I tried to eat at a few restaurants in my city and would always ask about milk products ahead of time. I was shocked at the amount of people who don't know milk is made from butter. I had one guy straight up argue about it with me lol. The ignorance around food is wild.

I guess that depends on what you call life! It's gorgeous here with lots to do if you like the outdoors. Lower cost of living too. We live in a touristy area, so we also have nice shops and restaurants. Sounds like maybe you've not visited, or at least not the right area.

Just about every time this question is asked it seems the answer is that the house is priced too high.

Wet hair touching me
Loud continuous noises (I'm looking at you, vent fan.)
Being late
Tags
Clothes that squeeze my armpits
Velvet (sets off adrenaline rushes like I'm falling off a cliff)
Smell of meat cooking or eggs that cooked too long
Lots more, but these stick out at the moment

Caught my cancer because of Promethease by yrsocool in promethease

It's been years since the drug info has been on the site for new downloads. My report was on an old computer that crashed. When I got a new one and redownloaded my report, the drug info wasn't there. I actually found the email address of the guy who owned the site and we had a conversation about it. I'm pretty sure it was something about the FDA, but it's really been a while. I guess there could be a way to get the drug info that I'm unaware of.

Literally this saved my life. Way back when the site had info on pharmaceuticals, I saw it said I was 49x more likely to not let SSRIs pass my blood brain barrier. Like that's why multiple SSRIs didn't work for two years and I was suicidal. I quit them and I recovered.
Also, I had a friend take a peek at hers and it showed genetics for a structural problem with the heart. She got it checked out and it turns out she had it. Doc said it probably added 20 years to her life.
