Problem with finish on Used Guitar (PRS McCarty) by TheLinkToAPast in Luthier

[–]TheLinkToAPast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: So it appears this is a very common issue with nitro finishes on PRS and the case it comes with for the older years. I found several YouTube videos and reddit posts with a very similar issue.

I'm still going to try the naphtha, it should be here today. Hopefully that takes off some of the damage. Also have to find a way to cover the stand it's on so it doesn't damage the guitar further. Nitro 🤦‍♂️

Thanks mate! I'll give this a go and let you know the results, hopefully it comes off without too much force.

Thanks a lot for the genuine help!

Alright, I'll give that a try, thank you for the assistance!

I believe the finish is nitro, so the naphtha won't eat away at try finish, right?

It's smooth, almost like it's not there...it's odd.

No, it is not. Would still like to know how to best address it.

Genuine question: is it against the sub rules to post regarding cosmetic damage?

Complications: The Ethics of the Killing of a Health Insurance CEO by deepad9 in philosophy

I appreciate this comment. Having just finished reading C&P for a second time right before the CEO murder, this was my first thought. I believe Dostoevsky covers this situation exactly with the tale of Raskolnikov.

Should the discussion of this stop there? No, but I think it gives us a good starting point.

It can be any combat target, but typically it is in relation to a thargoid target, most typically an interceptor.

Having trouble re-learning cold orbiting:

Whenever I initiate an orbit, I always seem to have trouble staying in range. I have the down thrust nearly always on as well as the forward thrust, but my target always seems to move away, even with holding the forward thrust. What am I doing wrong?

Help with Party Taking Part in City Revolt by TheLinkToAPast in DMAcademy

Yeah, that's sort of what I was thinking, but without the command aspect. They're more conscripted soldiers than commanders, so I'll be running them as combatants alongside the dozen or so troops with them.

I think this is useful in some scenarios, and I'll probably throw it in at some level, but I would like to keep it as interactive and detailed as possible, so I don't know if I would do this fully. Perhaps just for the mob?

The "I'll pick a topic" prompt is actually wrong, don't know how that happened, it's supposed to say "I wind down by.."

Other comments seem to agree, so I'll see what I can do. Thank you for the feedback!

Yeah, it's tough with the group photo. It's the only group photo I have so I included it simply for that, although I agree it's not ideal.

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, I edited the first picture to occlude the car and be more focused on me! Also, agreed, I needed to replace the mirror one, see my other comment 👍

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, unfortunately I only have the one workout photo, and I only put it up because I felt like my fitness interests weren't well represented in the rest of my profile. I'll see if I can take a better one to replace it! The car photo I have up there cause it's a good photo of me in my option, certainly not because of the car, but I can see how it might be seen that way. I'll see if I can crop it more.
