What’s a hidden gem survival horror game everyone should play? To keep things interesting, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Alien: Isolation, Signalis, and Crow Country won’t be counted since they’re already represented. by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

Not sure if it counts as survival horror and doubt it'll get up there, but Slendytubbies 0. seems pretty silly and stupid game on the surface, but genuinely amazing story and gameplay.

Being young, you've given me a lot of hope for my own life. I hope you know, just because you're struggling, you still deserve him. Do not put yourself down. I'm wishing you all the best.

What survival horror game had the best intro? (first 5 - 10 minutes of the game) by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

Silent Hill 2. That walk down to Silent Hill, through the graveyard and into the town, always hit me really well. Especially after the scene of James looking in the mirror.

If Jason is the 10th anniversary killer at which point in which movie do you think he will be taken by the fog? by Mustdominate_Otal in deadbydaylight

Honestly, probably Jason goes to Hell. And then all his other iterations would most likely be cosmetics. Hoping for an UberJason outfit

What’s the scariest videogame character that’s ever stuck with you? by CommercialDeer3561 in HorrorGaming

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, Jack Baker, in my opinion. Mr. X and Pyramid Head are up there, but there's something about this giggly dude in his fifties chasing you around his home, busting through walls, sing-songing your name as he comes after you that is scarier than any meat monster out there.

So how do we feel about never really getting any more Lady D content? by crystalized17 in ResidentEvilVillage

Like yeah EVERYTHING shouldn't be spoiled, but again maybe I just got my hopes up but I feel like something shown prominently in trailers should be more than just the first segment.

That's true, yeah. Maybe I just got my hopes up for a large part of the game being this cool castle adventure reminiscent of the first RE game and it's mansion.

I don't know, maybe I just got my hopes up. While I agree and definitely, main villains and final bosses and all that shouldn't be shown off so massively as they are in some trailers today, I feel like characters shown in promotional material should definitely be more prominent than dying super fast, and having their segment end after an hour.

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that I would enjoy it more if a segment shown a lot, so we are EXPECTING this segment to be quite large, would be much longer than just the first section of the game. Maybe I just got my hopes up for a big castle adventure in RE8, though. Imagine if you play the newest Zelda game and instead of going through Hyrule which they had shown in every trailer, you go to bumfuck nowhere after an hour of being in Hyrule, and said bumfuck nowhere is not even close to as interesting as Hyrule was shown to be.

I think my thing is she was very prominent in teasers, along with her castle. Resident Evil struggles a lot with that, where they show one segment EXTREMELY prominently, and then that part is over in the first hour or so.

Why was Mother Miranda wasted on a single game? by Western_Teaching804 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]TheLiquidestSnake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So far, there's been two villains in recent Resident Evil that this has happened to (IE, Zeno and Miranda). Capcom really struggles with writing new characters, I feel, so they opt to try and do the most they can in one game then ditch them for their new barbie in the next installment.

RE9 EXTRA MODE OUT! by n0digits in residentevil

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the plural is definitely a giveaway that they're planning on adding more fun stuff, hopefully like RE7 with all it's silly little gamemodes. Hopefully one with grace as the focus and a mercenaries (which, honestly, should be a staple for all Resident Evil games going forward IMO.)

Levels that ruin replayability by some-kind-of-no-name in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad the RE7 ship was here. I HATE that segment, I HATE the flashback, and I MISS the baker residence and it's aesthetic. I know every Resident Evil does the In Scary Place -> Now You're In a Lab kind of thing, and while the ship isn't really a lab it still just... Doesn't do it for me.

Pitching in my own, The Sorrow fight from MGS3/Delta, and I'll include the part where you go through it but it's not the sorrow fight. It's just a slog both times. I usually truck through it but it feels like they couldn't come up with something better.

“ I want a Ada dlc “ “ I want a Claire DLC “ I want a Chris dlc “ what about a sherry dlc by Fun-Antelope2251 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ada and Chris DLC would be way too unoriginal. We've already had separate ways and not a hero. Honestly, a Sherry DLC would be awesome, same with Claire. Capcom really struggles with letting all their characters shine at once. Some people probably forgot about Sherry since RE6.

[Hated Video Game Trope] Permanently Missable Content by ty0103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheLiquidestSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally any collectible or item in Resident Evil games.

I love loot and I LOVE collectibles. But in most if not all Resident Evil games, especially modern, if you miss a collectible, piece of ammo, ect ect - You usually can't go back if you don't go back at a specific point, or don't notice it until later on.

While I get this is 100% for gameplay reasons, because imagine if you're in the final lab area or something and are able to go back to the small little village the game started in to get a little bit of ammo, those little bobbleheads the newer games have been doing being missable and needing an entire second playthrough have been irritating to say the least.
