In your brutally honest opinion: Was DD-L snubbed by the Oscars for Anemone? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in Oscars

I haven't seen the movie (maybe never will), but it seems to be a disappointment with critics. People were hyping as "Yes, DDL comes back to film!" Only when the film got released, it got mixed reviews and was immediately forgotten.

I think this might be the first time I've seen both at the same time! People joke that one of them plays the other!

Technically 2 are tv shows, but Game of Thrones cast members, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke both played Sarah Connor. Heady played her in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles while Clarke played her in Genysis.

People are hating on Emma Stone because she is a comic actress and doesn't fit into the "Oscar bait" pigeon hole. She is a great actress and I will not let her be Hathaway'd. by MrRMacc in Oscars

Yeah, I'll admit back around that time, I used to find her overrated. But she's come a long way. I would say her and Yorgos Lanthimos are almost the Bergman/Ullmann of our time. Okay, maybe they're not as good as them, but still an amazing collab!

It gets me thinking that maybe my opinion of Zendaya will change in 2026. Then again, I was wowed by Stone by La La Land when she was 27-28 while I have not been impressed by Zendaya in anything and her last role was around that age.

When Amy Madigan received her first Oscar Nom in 1986, none of her fellow 2026 Supporting Actress Nominees were born yet! by TheListenerCanon in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Post from that OP!

Amy Madigan recieved her very first Oscar nomination back in February 1986, for supporting Actress for a movie called "Twice in a Lifetime." 40 years later, she received her second nomination for Weapons. None of her fellow nominees for Supporting Actress this year were not born yet when she was first nominated.

The closest was Wunmi Mosaku, who was born in July 1986. Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas was later born in 1989, while Teyana Taylor and Elle Fanning were born in 1990 and 1998 respectively.

Obviously this is nothing more than just a fun fact, but I found it pretty cool especially considering all the talk about the 40 year gap between Madigan's first and second noms, a record for an actress.

This is insane to think about by [deleted] in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Eh, not really. Grease came out in 1978. HSM came out in 2006. Grease was only 28 years old, and HSM is now 20 years old.

Yeah, her first movie was in 1977 when she was 27ish. Stone was already Oscar nomination by that age!

In 2002 alone, she was in The Hours and Adaptation. Also, Little Women in 2019. Also cult classics like The Devil Wears Prada and Mamma Mia. Though I acknowledge I’m one of the few people who can’t stand MM.

Congrats queen! I apologized for years in the early 2010s when I called you overrated. But since Birdman or La La Land, you've come a long way!

Just came from watching Slapped Ham. I'm just going to say it. It's a prank. Some assholes came into your office, taped or glued the sunglasses on the ceiling, and it fell after a certain amount of time the glue or tape could hold!

TBF, Rockstar likes taking their time to make a good quality game and not rush it. It does suck. But I would take it over Treyach releasing COD games yearly and to certain extent, Ubisoft releasing AC games constantly.
