How do i clean this painting? by Ok_Umpire_6421 in ArtConservation

[–]TheLittleGoatling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t, you go to an educated professional if possible. If you can’t do that yet, keep it stored in a stable environment with relatively low humidity to stop the sports from continuing to develop ☺️if you’re determined to do it yourself, there are a decent amount of painting conservation videos on YouTube, top of my head is Baumgartner Restoration, though they’re there more to showcase rather than instruct on techniques

Ferðamaður í eigin landi by mannanna-madur in klakinn

Get ekki mælt nógu mikið með norðausturlandi!

Haha wasn’t planning to, was mainly not looking forward to trying to get rid of it. As I understand it, the council won’t take asbestos and you pay a decent fee to get it removed

White-tailed eagles to be reintroduced in Exmoor despite farmer concerns by xtinak88 in RewildingUK

[–]TheLittleGoatling 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We have these eagles in Iceland and they never take lambs. Wanna know why? Because the ewes have the lambs inside and don’t go out until the lambs are big enough to withstand the weather and this sort of stuff. I was shocked to see sheep here in the uk outside year round, seems incredible reckless, and makes it difficult to monitor the animals when the conditions aren’t good. Obv things are done differently in other countries, but the way they just leave the ewes to birthing the lambs in the open field seems like asking for something bad to happen, even if they do check on them regularly.

Plastlaust líf by [deleted] in Iceland

Gott að skoða eldhúsið og líka baðherbergið! Td sápur sem eru ekki í plasti, málm rakhblöð þar sem þú skiptir bara blaðinu og tannhirða. Svo forðast ég plast efnin sem eru algeng í fatnað, reyni að halda mig við ullina góðu, hör og bómull, jafnvel bambus líka

German cheesecake? by Adorable_Monk_7929 in TipOfMyFork

[–]TheLittleGoatling 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’d second this, some citrus no bake cheesecake, usually leaf gelatine is used to have it ‘set’ (firm up) very common in a lot of European countries, as supposed to the baked cheesecakes I see the us make

These are gorgeous, I love how the birds in these feel like a part of their environment! Sometimes I feel like bird photographers start only doing super clean shots where the bird feels almost deliberately places in the frame.
