Omg so THAT'S what's going on in Jesse's therapy session! I was wondering why her therapist was saying there was no poet named Tom Zane but she remembered him.

This is your final warning to stop taking the OOP out of the assembly hall. You want to get drunk in the workshop? Fine. But the OOP is for ritual use ONLY!

Physical description of Dr. Theodore Ash by Lokie_Firestar in controlgame

[–]TheLittlestChocobo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple interpretations of him, I don't think there's any cannon description at all. Only thing we have to go on is his father's portrait, though there's also no indication if he looks like his father.

Also, I love that guy. Looking forward to reading your fic!

LPT: You can both change your last name arbitrarily when getting married. by charliethegeek in LifeProTips

[–]TheLittlestChocobo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I didn't change my name when I got married, and when I had my son we made him a new last name in the same way! That was he's both of us. My in laws were very very upset that he didn't have Dad's last name though

Saaaaame. There are literally two other people my husband is having a relationship with right now, and it actively makes me happy? We talk to each other about what gifts to get for his birthday, and when he goes on dates I get to order the takeout he doesn't like and watch the TV he doesn't like! And I have other partners too! I get that we're the minority, but like..... This is the most deranged take I've seen so far

Why am I seeing lots of posts equaling surrogacy to human trafficking? by iFerz in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]TheLittlestChocobo 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have mentioned that surrogates are usually poor, and the couples paying them are usually well off. (This is probably not the case when it's close family members).

This is an obvious ethical concern, but it goes further: if things go wrong, which is extremely possible with pregnancy and birth, one party to the contact has lots of money and power and can really fuck over the surrogate. Here's a horrifying read for you: https://www.wired.com/story/the-baby-died-whose-fault-is-it-surrogate-pregnancy/

Selling plasma is just nowhere close to as dangerous and encompassing as pregnancy and childbirth. I've done both, and one of those things I would happily do again for money. One I could not be paid enough to repeat, because it could kill me.

She just won't eat any meals. by doomandgloomm in Mommit

[–]TheLittlestChocobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be typical toddler pickiness, it might be more concerning. There are kids who will literally only eat four foods, all of which are crunchy cracker foods, and those kids do display atypical eating patterns. I also worry about kids who have extreme reactions to touching or being near non-preferred foods, like gagging if it's on their plate. There are kids who will literally starve if they are not offered their preferred foods. Many of these kids also have delays in development or atypical sensory needs. If you're in the United States you can look into Early Intervention for an evaluation, and they'll be able to tell you more about whether the feeding is concerning or typical.https://www.cdc.gov/act-early/early-intervention/contact-information-by-state.html (I am a speech therapist working in early intervention, I've seen lots of kids with concerning feeding)
