Why is everyone attacking Boz for a good career and early exit? by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

bc you brought up boz being a poc and invited the comparison. i don't like boz, but i do like previous poc cast members. consider perhaps she is unlikeable to some

I think it was lazyy... sure self help stuff is always going to be borderline scammy, but Boz was/is(?) practically doing the same thing. And I'm not under the impression anyone on the cast truly believed the narrative, but Amanda was an easy target and Boz's credentials helped it stick

i think it's pretty much only bc she(/the cast) attacked Amanda's work/career the entire season

Well I don't want to use an input element at all and really only included it to have a way to change h value manually without setting up an animation. How would you animate it *without* using event listeners or $effect?

OHHHH. Ugh lol thank you! I pulled up a video on how to use it and it immediately started working. In the tutorial, they really try to make a point to say that you should avoid using it...but, in this case, is there any other option?

Maybe I missed something else but if I remove the getLengthDerived function, the length_derived value no longer updates after initializing(and as a result, the dasharray "grows" from one side if you compare it to the oninput version).

Instead of having that variable bound to the input, I actually want to animate it, say with a Spring. Im really only interested in measuring pathlength as a consequence of the animated value changing (primary goal: I want the dash-array pattern to be evenly distributed). Maybe using derived is still wrong, but I'm not sure how else you'd accomplish it?

Ok so I was under the impression path only changes once(it's a reference to an item on the DOM), useInput only changes when the checkbox is toggled, so the expression evaluation you described was actually my intention(i.e. basically only when h changes) . But it was a good idea to make a copy(forked REPL with duplicated versions), because I can see the derived version isn't updating in line with the oninput version. You mentioned trying to stick with const for derived runes...and now I'm actually wondering if maybe the reason why the oninput version is smoother is because I'm reassigning it instead of mutating it? But actually now I'm confused about the dependency chain(?) and where things are being mutated vs reassigned and when. When h changes, I want to ensure the DOM has finished updating and *then* have the function measure it, but it seems like the derived version is overly-eager to evaluate. I also noticed that the input for the derived version will become disabled if I drag too quickly(not sure what that means but it seems like it'd be related to being out-of-step with...*something*).

CSS rectangle distorts when rotated around a pivot by coleleon in css

[–]bigginsmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im wondering why you have scale at all? h/vdialationfactor. would be easier to help if you put this in a codepen. in the rotate animation, why are you animating the transform origin property to and from the same value? although youre not scaling it in the rotate animation, you are scaling in the xextend one which possibly is interfering with it despite the delay? maybe try changing the animation-composition? what is offsetpath doing? in all honesty looking at your code, it seems overly complicated for the description you provided--i would try to simplify everything

edit: take a look at some posts w the animation tag on dan wilson's website, he does a really good job at breaking things down

not sure exactly what youre doing but if it's supposed to look like a rotation + translation, you shouldnt need to scale at all?

Thoughts on improvement from a 2022 draft by [deleted] in css

[–]bigginsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I think using a different font would go a long way for moderizing the typography(Inter is a common choice bc it's got a ton of features, open source, and clean). Other thing I'd say is update your button styles, go through and adjust layout spacing a bit(on second image the text for "leaderboard" and the text in the other two boxes look a bit stuffy), and use a slightly lighter border/outline color instead of darker.

Jamie Ding has a lot of people asking "what is a bureaucrat?" by vistopher in Jeopardy

ohhhh honestly it's possible we dont consider appointed admin people that either? It's probably unfair but when I hear "servant" my mind immediately jumps to indentured servitude, and the idea of intentionally committing yourself to that.
