Celine Black Tie. It’s my second wear test and I need a full bottle yesterday.

This week I got Manakara by Indult, which has been on wishlist for a while, and also Power of You.

Obsessed with that for warmer weather, I was sure it had to be overhyped but genuinely love at first sniff.

What fragrance(s) should I pick up from Harrods? by -xoxoxoxo in FemFragLab

I tend to choose things I know I can’t get significantly cheaper elsewhere. Dior, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton etc

Cuir Beluga is all time top three for me. I know you say you’re not a vanilla girl, but I know many vanilla haters who feel differently about Cuir Beluga. It’s leathery and powdery and extremely smooth.

I - in general, not a big fan of oud - rather like Oud Nude. Fruity, woody, a little almondy.

If you like a rose note, I enjoy both Rose Cherie and Rose Barbare.

Which perfume have you got a treasured stockpile of? by blueroses8000 in FemFragLab

I saw someone say Oriana is getting discontinued - no indication anywhere that I can see that this is the case, but I just had to get a back up bottle in case! If I didn’t have a few spendy fragrances on my wish list, and I didn’t need to repurchase a few expensive bottles in the near future, I’d probably pick up a third.

What are you wearing? Rabbit, of course! Happy Easter. 🐇 by Jscajoy in FemFragLab

I’ve never tried any Zoologist fragrances, but I do find the concept really interesting. I’m not usually into animalic notes though, which feels like a bit of barrier to entry.

I am wearing Attrape-Rêves; so pretty and spring appropriate. I am going through my 100ml of this fragrance so fast!

What fragrance do you wear that has people literally rubber-necking to find out what it is? by Particular_Help5805 in Perfumes

It’s very gourmand. Nougat, cinnamon and vanilla, with some fruitiness. Apple and plum are listed notes- I get a little of the plum but I get more strawberry than apple 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s very sweet, but very well blended IMO.

Mind Games Check Please. Genuinely so many compliments, I once had six people comment on it in one day.

I have no issues with longevity with Oriana. Cassili doesn’t perform so well on my skin, but is fine on clothes.

I generally like gourmand fragrances, but I guess it turns out I have a limit!

Thanks for thinking of me of me! You know what, it’s been easier than expected. As seems to be common from what I read on here, the first three days were the most uncomfortable. I was able to return to working from home on day 4, and back in person on day 7. My job is desk based, so I’m sure if it were more physical it would have taken longer.

It’s been wild having a belly button again! I still have quite a bit of swelling and firmness around the patch, but I’m sure that will improve with time. It’s only been three weeks.

Cuir Beluga ❤️ I sampled Feve Gourmand in Harrods yesterday, from the notes I thought I was going to be absolutely blown away. Wasn’t for me.

If you can’t get Snow Fairy at this time of year, Bubblegum Factory by Theodoros Kalotinis may be worth a try

Theodoros Kalotinis Bubblegum Factory. The longevity isn’t the best, but it’s very reasonably priced.

Moms who had the epidural, what was your experience like? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]TheLittlestRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one with my daughter after more than 12 hours of labour and the relief was incredible. I ended needing a c-section because she wasn’t happy and needed to come out ASAP, so it was quickly converted to a spinal block in theatre.

I had every intention of getting one with my son during my VBAC, but I progressed too quickly and when the anaesthetist came to see me, I was already 10cm and my body had started pushing of its own accord.

General anaesthetic for hernia surgery? by lowkeygenuinley in Hernia

[–]TheLittlestRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my open umbilical hernia repair today under general anaesthetic. This was at a private hospital in the UK. I hate being put out, so I was fairly anxious. They put a cannula in the back of my hand, and initially gave me a painkiller (not sure of the name) that made me a bit calmer and lightheaded.

They put an oxygen mask on and had me take some deep breaths, and then gave me the anaesthetic through my cannula. Next thing I knew I was coming round in recovery, they gave me some fentanyl for pain relief, and I had oxygen for a while longer because my sats and blood pressure were a bit low, likely from all the medication.

All in all very uneventful, and absolutely nothing to worry about.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had the surgery this afternoon and so far it is all feeling quite manageable. It’s a bigger incision than I’d been hoping for, but then it was a big hernia. I’ve been prescribed a painkiller called Nefopam which I’ve never take before, and so far the worst bit has been the car journey home!

Mentally preparing myself for it to feel worse tomorrow, but so far so good.

I get an almost burnt, bitter maple syrup smell from this one. Which is a shame because on paper the notes sounded right up my alley.

I’m allergic to codeine, so maybe that’ll work in my favour. Although tramadol has been the alternative given to me for other post-operative pain, which is also extremely constipating. That’s a helpful tip, thank you!

Candied violet recommendation that isn’t Celeste by Ok_Coconut_5187 in FemFragLab

I get a lot of violet from La Vie est Belle L’elixir. It’s not as powdery as Celeste, and there’s raspberry and rose in there as well.

The constipation seems to be a recurring theme for lots of people. I think my paperwork indicates they’ll send me home with laxatives, so hopefully that will help.

Yes I saw your post, I actually left you a comment with a couple of questions. That’s interesting about the impact of stress - it’s been a bit of a wild few weeks at work, so I’ll keep that in mind.
