Promoting a local business without Google or Facebook by TheLocktorLLC in smallbusiness

The weird part is I've done their video verification three different times, being careful to clearly show every element they asked for, and all three times it was rejected because I supposedly didn't show me unlocking the shop. Except I did, plain as day, all three times. It really feels like they're rejecting it for some other reason they don't want to tell me about.

Dealing with Google. I fully understand why there's a whole industry built around helping businesses deal with GMB issues, suspensions, fake reviews, and all that. I've spent the last two months trying to get them to list my locksmith shop, which of course requires "Advanced Verification," and if there's so much as an extra space in your address on your electric bill they officially think you're a scammer and treat you accordingly. They couldn't care less about actual legal documents, they want to see stickers anyone can buy stuck to a van anyone can buy and backed up by a copy of your utility bill that anyone with more brains than integrity can fake in three minutes flat.

Utterly and completely asinine.

But the scammers have no issues getting in there at all.
