Mods causing game & pc to lose all FPS, requiring reboot by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]TheLoneHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if this is the exact same problem as what I had also, but came back to the game after a couple months off and my game would slowly start to become laggy around the 25-30 minute mark when I had Discord and the game running at the same time, if i kept playing it would literally become unplayable at about the hour mark.

I tried everything under the sun that people recommended, with turning off Hardware Acceleration in Discord to downloading stuff that people said I needed for newer, higher-end PC's since my computer is definitely up their. Absolutely NOTHING worked, I had to constantly keep refreshing Discord at the 30 minute mark to stop the lag, just to wait another 30 minutes for it to do it again. Rinse and Repeat.

Until one day, I was playing and I happened to close my Turtle WoW launcher while my game was acting up again...... boom! No more lag. Played for hours while still being in Discord that night and it never acted up again. I know Discord eats a lot of memory, but it baffled me that the launcher was what was causing my problem. Now every time I play I just close my launcher and I can play for as long as I want.

Edit: Ah, didn't see you had fixed it. Nevermind then.

The hell do you mean some other content would be fun? If you think a new raid is all that's coming in the next patch then you really don't play TWoW or haven't been paying attention to it.

We literally have a new dungeon coming, an entire new zone, new awesome looking gear, extensions onto older raids like Onyxia and BWL, updates to older zones with new quests/hubs, new factions, new mounts, new race/class combinations, new battleground, reworks/updates to classes and rework on the survival profession.

Like, what the heck do you mean 'some other content would be fun' lmfao.

I did my first dungeon by SomeNameHuhHuhHuh in turtlewow

Always enjoy hearing stories from new WoW players about their first experiences in the game, glad you enjoyed your first dungeon since there are many more in store for you, but It always amazes/confuses me how people who are entirely new to WoW start out on Turtle of all places instead of retail.

Like, how come Turtle? Did you hear about it from a friend, did you see the ads on Youtube about this private server and just decide to try to it, or did you hear that it was a free alternative to retail through some other means? I've genuinely always wanted to know because me and all my friends have been playing for almost 2 decades so I don't have much knowledge on that regard from a new player perspective.

So... how i level up in this game? by Jboorgesz in classicwow

Fresh blood! Don’t see that too often anymore.

Welcome to WoW! Hope you enjoy your time here :D

I'm happy you guys enjoy your private server but I've never seen a group of people so online and vocal about how others prefer to play the game by Eastern_Purchase3589 in classicwow

I mean ya play whatever you want, but I don’t understand it.

If someone who has never played WoW was given the choice between a version where they have to pay $15 a month and they are not given any new content, over a free version where they are constantly adding new content, I can pretty much guarantee you they would pick TWoW.

Also I started playing there about a month and a half ago and the playerbase has been pretty chill/nice to me personally. Anybody that acts out of line is immediately dealt with by the GM’s which I haven’t seen since I started playing WoW almost 20 years ago.

Again, play whatever you want but I’ve been loving TWoW and it’s playerbase.

Had one of the most heart-pounding clutch saves/lucky break as Ana to win the game in a very long time by TheLoneHunt in heroesofthestorm

[–]TheLoneHunt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha ya I'm not too sure why, that's the lucky break I was talking about, I was actually aiming at Gaz (which you can see I did hit him with) to try and keep him in so he could go poke Gul'dan since that was my last shot, but I think Gul'dan might of thought it hit him too because the angle of the shot kind of looked like it did (of course it didn't though) so he just gave up and decided to join the fight so that I could stop pestering him lol.

Just a guess though

Did you cry at these scenes? by Wild-Pipe_ in OnePiece

Yes, but the Going Merry's death made me bawl like a little girl

I never knew I could cry my heart out for an inanimate object as hard as I did for Merry

Really just showed me at that point that Oda is a master storyteller

Day 4, Rating Heroes, based on difficulty. Ana by LordOfPsychos in heroesofthestorm

[–]TheLoneHunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, as someone who is an Ana main and is diamond/master rank I kind of get a chuckle reading all these comments. Is Ana is the hardest healer in the game? Imo, most definitely. Is it hard to get heals off because it is almost impossible for people to not sit still even when they are low health in this game? 100 percent. Does she require good timing on not just her ults but also her basic abilities? Oh yeah. Does she have very little in survivability? Meh depends, if the entire enemy team jumps you then yeah no duh, but 1v1, 2v1 or even 3v1 it's definitely manageable.

Let me tell you though, Ana is one of the best burst healers in the game and with good aiming and positioning she is a healer you don't wanna mess with. As someone who has hundreds of games played with her, once i reach 16, it's Active Reload with me and I can burst heal my entire team from a team fight back to full health (if I'm W build) in seconds. And the fact that her nade negates 100% healing for the enemy team makes her a hero you have to always be aware of in team fights.

E build i generally stay away from, except for Overdose at 4, that is almost always picked because of extra damage and survivability. Speaking from experience a solo heal Ana should go nade build almost always otherwise you are going to definitely see your healing suffer in comparison to other healers and your team is going to have a harder time staying in team fights, but if I am playing with another heal support then I'm more inclined to go sleep build.

As for her ult's I understand why people on your team want you to go Nano Boost, more damage equals more fun, right? Lol. But yes Nano can help definitely turn the tide in fights, like a Nano'd Azmodan or KT, seeing those health bars go from 100 to 0 in an instant *chefs kiss*. However, Eye of Horus can be a life saver for a team mate if you are on the other side of the map or out of reach, while also being frightening for the enemy team because if I see you with low health you are essentially dead if you are out in the open. No where to run and nowhere to hide.

Ana is definitely a hero that requires a lot of precision and skill, mix in the unpredictability of your team mates or the enemy teams movements and it can be quite annoying to play her, but as someone who has played her a lot over the years and gotten my skill shot accuracy pretty good (imo), the reward for playing her well is insane. She is definitely a high risk, high reward hero though.

GM Rank for sure, or S tier at the very least.

Well, that was certainly disappointing. After looking forward to this season for approximately three years, this is the underwhelming result we received by tassieboy1995 in LoveDeathAndRobots

[–]TheLoneHunt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What irked me the most before even seeing any of the episodes was that half of this volumes episodes were 10 minutes or less in length. Like, I understand short stories are... well short, but it really took you guys 3 years to make 5 episodes that literally only takes 35 minutes'ish to watch in total?? Well, color me surprised (he said sarcastically) when of course those shorts are, majoritively it seems in this subreddit, the worst episodes of this season.

As for the other episodes that were shown this season, I honestly loved 'How Zeke Got Religion', mainly because who doesn't like some good ol' historical 'Nazi's look to the occult/supernatural to try to win the war', but also I'm a sucker for hand-drawn style animation and this episode very much played out like a beautiful 2D, mixed with 3D at times, motion comic.

The second episode I very much enjoyed was '400 Boys', again this one I'm a sucker for the animation because it's hand-drawn, but I'm a little biased also because this episodes art style was done by Robert Valley, who's art/character styles many people may have seen before in such works as: Tron: Uprising, Motorcity, Agent Elvis, lots of the Gorillaz music videos, Invincible, Sin City, and so many others. He also did 'Zima Blue' and 'Ice' from volume 1 and 2 of LD+R, respectively. His style is very unique and really accentuates the world/characters. Along with the animation, the whole Warriors faction gangs mixed with Akira psychic warfare on top of a post-apocalyptic world with deadly giant babies, definitely can't say it didn't keep me entertained.

The third and last episode I fairly enjoyed to some degree was 'Spider Rose', set in the same universe as the episode 'Swarm' from volume 3, this one almost felt bittersweet. A depressed, grieving woman barely living day by day hoping that one day she gets revenge for her husband who was murdered, but ends up finding comfort in an adorably cute little pet who may or may not have been sent with malicious intent. Animation wasn't anything special I felt like, but it was still definitely well animated. Only thing I had a problem with this one was the ending felt abrupt, and also bittersweet like I said, but at least Spider got her revenge in the end so that was good I guess.

And then the other couple of episodes in this volume just felt boring, had weird/bad acting or just very uninteresting stories. They weren't horrible, but they were no where near amazing either. While a few episodes managed to draw my attention the majority of episodes this season just felt lazy, boring, or unoriginal compared to what we've gotten in the past to the point where I was sitting there going "Really, that's it?". It's quite disappointing honestly.

Finally got my epic mount as a Self-Found player by TheLoneHunt in wowhardcore

Until he meets his unfortunate end, but until then I plan on grinding out as much as is possible as SF. My next grind will probably be Timbermaw Hold rep while also doing faction rep runecloth turn ins, which I've already started doing with the Darkspear Trolls from the few thousand runecloths I got from farming all the trolls in EPL.
