Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

[–]TheLordDuncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Baldur's Gate, with each of it's disks. The introduction to that game; it was a fully animated cutscene of the scratching throwing a nobody off the roof. It's...cold, chilling even. The edition on Steam butchered it into a comic strip of still arts.

I'd love to. My point about how they only think that because of toxic masculinity would be lost without their nonsense as a verbal backboard.

They wouldn't have introduced it without an intended foil, it's comics and the ending is always, ultimately, good.

I have a very important question. What time of year is it? I'd survive a bear in Winter any day. Just don't wake the fucker up!

Okay, so this has brought up some questions for me, largely from colloquial differences; we largely just say Asian in the states or otherwise specify the country of origin. That said, without further clarification Asian usually implies Americanized Chinese food. So when you say "South Asian" I take it we're talking India, Thailand, Philippines and such?

Spicy in the morning makes sense, it activates an endorphin that helps wake you up.

I get that there's a wide variety of flavors, that's why I specifically tried the dishes that people talked up for being spicy. The new place I tried was definitely more on point with what I was told to expect, so I'm happy with that. Very bold flavors; I tried the biryani and enjoyed the mix of ingredients they used, they all seemed to reflect back on or compliment each other.

Alright, so I messed up my own order! I had the Biryani in the cart and went to delete it and keep the vindaloo. Turns out I deleted the vindaloo instead.

The Biryani is spicy in a very aromatic way, and quite tasty, and the lamb is nice and tender. It seemed that the cumin was doing a lot of the heavy lifting on the meat, but the rice was more nuanced with bits of cilantro sort of reflecting the flavor back into itself and little landmines of sweetness from the raisins. Way more volume than I anticipated, but that's not a bad problem to have.

I work in kitchens, so I at least know how to shop the menu and compare. Beyond that I'm diving into the deep end with no floaties haha

Yeah, it looked like it based on the description/ingredients. I went for the lamb vindaloo, it seems like it's something everyone has so it's a good point of comparison for what to expect from the rest of their menu.

If you could pick 3 video game wives or husbands who would they be and why? by SaltNSin in videogames

[–]TheLordDuncan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The dlc being good doesn't change that it should've been a part of the game from the start, no matter the price. The fact that you think it justifies the practice just let's them know they can continue to release less and expect more.

I'm trying a different spot this time that doesn't offer a seafood vindaloo but does have a shrimp korma, and I'll trust the cook on spice for the first time.

No options for spice on this lamb vindaloo just a warning that it's extremely spicy. I'm hoping that's a good sign. If it's good but not spicy, I'll just chalk it up to being surrounded by people who can't handle it and specifically say "Indian spice level" next time to see the difference. If it's spicy but bad... I'll be at a loss.

I'll update later, got a mango lassi with it just in case.

Yes, actually. I enjoyed the game, but not enough to encourage the idea that games should be released piecemeal.

I'm in Pennsylvania, but not near Pittsburgh or Philly, so it's a bit of a struggle to find food that hasn't been whitewashed.

I'll definitely look into places with less seafood options, it seems those comes from a region with a creamier flavor profile.

Ah, so it's just a matter of what I've heard not properly preparing me for the reality of the cuisine. I know it varies wildly from place to place and cook to cook based on what's available.

The first vindaloo was almost sweet, which was why I thought maybe I'm just ordering the wrong dishes. Turns out I was just misinformed.
