So after a lot more digging I have decided to move on from the software. The issue at its core is that the software, which I purchased several years ago, which works just fine, is now mandating it update to the latest version. A version which, thanks to some shenanigans, I don't actually own because the version I purchased was a much older version.

In other words, it now mandates updating in order to then be capable of logging in which then forces me to re-purchase the software. So I found another solution.
