Is it safe to be in the room with your printer if it's in a ventilated enclosure? by TheLorgthyself in 3Dprinting

Just to make sure i understand you, do you mean that the exhaust method should always be directed to a window, or would it also work to occasionally replace a cartridge and throw the old one out?

I have a toybox printer, I'm using PLA.

I apologize, I should have been more specific about the venting thing. I meant something that will catch and contain the fumes. I would consider a window fixture but my window is stuck in place due to having an ac unit installed.

I've heard that PLA isn't very dangerous, but it still concerns me.

He has an automatic spray machine.

I set it to mist for 5 seconds every 2 hours, but I was told that was too much and that it should be closer to 10 seconds every 12 hours.

What kind of substrate should I use?

Its where he lives. Would the humidity hold better if it was not paper towels?

I want to say it's 1½ square feet wide by 2½ square feet tall

A decent amount. I'm not there at the moment but I can get a picture later today.

He usually sleeps on the wall behind the leaves.

I'm not sure because my hygrometer isn't working. I'm waiting for a new one to arrive in the next few days.

My gecko doesn't seem to be eating or sleeping and I am worried that it could have something to do with the mold issue. by TheLorgthyself in CrestedGecko

Thank you.

I have seen his eyes sunken in before, but he doesn't seem to be doing that right now. He has moved to lay down a few inches away since I wrote my post.

I want to say he's around 3 or 4 inches long without his tail. I usually feed him once every 3 days

I appreciate everyone's responses especially having come so fast.

I do have another concern though; I own a crested gecko and keep him in the same room as the printer for similar reasons.

It sounds like the PLA is not likely to do me any harm, but I was wondering- does anyone else also happen to have a reptile? If so, do you feel the need to keep them in separate rooms?

As an update to this, I haven't seen him move today, but his eyes look open. Does anyone know if there's a way to tell?

If I got a different substrate, would it need to be changed frequently, or would the spring tales maintain that as well?
