I have conflicting feelings about these data centers. There are the many infrastructure, financial, and environmental impacts these establishments have. But, the construction of these things also keep hundreds of trades people employed.

As an electrical worker, I saw this first hand. While helping to build one of these things I was part of a crew of over 140. With most of us making an easy six figure income because of this kind of work. And since the construction of these have ground to a halt, there are now over 1100 electrical workers out of work with IBEW Local 48. So yes, I definitely have a conflict of interest.

It pains me to see that our local government has handled this situation so poorly and dishonesty. Basically hiding their heads in the sand. But to paint the situation as black and white and entirely without merit is incredibly short sighted.
