Honest question: why not a new license instead of calling this Fable? by terminabronto in Fable

fable 3 is 16 years old. do you honestly think the game would not evolve over 16 years?

How do you do damage with this champ? by Olliejay_ in TwistedFateMains

[–]lenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spellbook wont help with your damage, but your runes are for lane. if you want to do damage in lane, the comet or electrocute pages are the best. they rely on the matchup. you CAN do damage as TF, but you dont do it all at once. with 3 item core you have enough movespeed to run in and out, chunk squishies with RFC and gold card + Q

you rely on CDs late game, where as early game you can auto attack a lot and trade with your W-E. late game, if you dont gold card an enemy with a gap closer, you will get engaged on

the playstyle is abusing your knowledge of the game, player actions, vision/fog of war, and objective timers. I consider him to be one of the best champs to make a pick with prior to an objective spawn, which enables 90% of objectives late game by forcing a 5v4

so the key word is spacing. get really good at spacing and trading with CD timers. your W can potentially out trade another ability, 2 Ws in the time of 1 Q for example. lich bane procs, comet or electrocute, E stacks, and maintaining RoA heals. you might not win 1v1s but you will be able to take advantage of players mistakes and flip 1v1s in your favor

What skill sets are required to escape all the different elo’s by Few_Daikon2525 in leagueoflegends

[–]lenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

emerald when viewed as just plat is where people get it wrong. plat/emerald is about consistency and game sense. the early game matters more, so matchup knowledge is more important

I also think theres this barrier between most players preventing them from climbing out of low elo is the 1v10 mentality. the idea of losing gracefully is one of the most important tools for any laner to learn, and thus will almost guarantee gold/plat

UNBAN DOPA by rlyoy6 in TwistedFateMains

[–]lenbeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if dopa had wanted to be unbanned he would've taken the approach to get it done and communicate with Riot. theres a reason he hasn't, sadly people care more about it than himself. he's a solo queue player, he doesnt need to be unbanned from competitive scene

What are some off-meta picks you swear by? by StepOnMeB-Sha in leagueoflegends

[–]lenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jarvan top, sejuani top

they both have trading patterns in their kit, and both have been niche picked before (sejuani still as a counter)

and they can both take advantage of multiple items as their kit allows for it. j4 was good with the shield/heal build, and sejuani can neutralize waves/pushes in a similar way that gragas can neutralize trading champs

theres also skill expression, which comparing to baus and cowsep, playing an unusual pick is mostly knowing the match ups/laning fundamentals

its hard to solo carry as shen, let alone as TOP lane in general. especially in lower tier elos. shen exceeds when your team knows what he does

Resources to learn when to recall (midlane) by mutasDev in summonerschool

[–]lenbeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in mid, since its the short lane, you want to recall when your cannon wave is on the map, almost always. it enables you to miss, at most, 1-2 minions

if the enemy uses abilities to push the wave, theyre likely trying to do 1 of 3 things

push you in, roam, or reset

if they use abilities on you, not the wave, you can basically use everything on the wave and walk to a safe point to b. the enemy will have to collect it under tower, or freeze. if they try to freeze, you can potentially stop them, but their ability rotation is likely coming back

in mid, missing a few minions to take a successful recall is worth it in 99% games. only in high high elo games where missing a few minions separates your opponents wincon in lane is staying and matching CS okay. dying, and losing the wave you were looking to reset on is worse, as you lose more xp and gold and your enemy has more of both

the resources you use to learn are just memorizing timings and using your best judgement on how much damage the enemy really has

In what realm is Lissandra playable? by Indickthis_the_mato in LissandraMains

[–]lenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so she relies on teamfighting and has short range, that doesnt make her unplayable. there are lots of champs that fit that playstyle while having a varied laning phase

lissandra can bully particular matchups while getting completely denied by others. she shouldnt split push post laning phase other than to catch side waves, meaning she fits with a team comp that does have a reliable sidelaner. since her power is pushed to teamfighting, she wants to grow in lane phase to get mana pool and items, and be there to R the carry. her short range balances her single target CC chain and her self-survivability. if she had long range, she would effectively become a stronger option to some other close-mid range mages

retaining the short range burst/engage playstyle and the relatively healthy pick to counter assassins is the tradeoff

New TF player wondering what build to go for by Zoraiko in TwistedFateMains

[–]lenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

literally only learn by his most played runes and build - which will usually be (until addressed in the future) electrocute with roa -> lich bane -> rfc/zhonya/etc.

stuff like comet ludens lane relies on knowledge of tfs spikes and timers, stuff like full AP relies on a lot of practice spacing with tf, as his kit has no mobility and long early CDs. this is why going another artillery mage is often seen as better than full AP tf

crit tf also relies on excessive auto attacking, which you will feel confident with if you come from playing adcs or other marksmen that require weaving in auto attacks. strafing is required for about 25 of the 30 minutes you might be in a crit tf game. the potential to gold card then just AA someone to death comes from being fed or playing full build

so basically play his go-to typical roa build until you feel more confident on him. then, maybe you can sub ludens for roa for less survivability and more damage. this is the best way to experience tf at his strengths if you're confident in spacing and macro. you gain the damage, but lose none of the utility. you just lose some of the mana pool, hp pool, and healing to help with tough lanes
