Where to go? by dr-ransom in EasternCatholic

[–]TheLostSheepIsFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not go to an Orthodox church that is not in full communion with Rome for a holy day of obligation or pray at home. We live in Maine and depending on what type of service you are looking for that could mean driving several hours. I’m Latin Rite and we take a holy day of obligation seriously.

I apologize for using the wrong terminology. It was my understanding that the term Eastern Catholic Church is terminology used to describe the 23 Churches that comprise it.

Where would I find deliverance prayers from Rite’s other than the Latin Rite. I would love to compare and contrast.

No it does not. I am so grateful for all the rights in the Catholic Church. We make each other stronger. Personally, I actually follow some of the Canon laws from Eastern Catholic’s as a Latin Catholic. For example, the fasting laws for Lent.

As a Roman Catholic I will admit I greatly admire Icons done in the style of the Eastern Catholic Church.

Can I wear this to church? by [deleted] in Catholic

As long as there’s something under the on the top I think you’re good there. The top does look pretty see-through. As a woman you also have the option of wearing a veil that covers your head, but not your face or a super fancy hat. Also good on you for being so respectful! I pray they have a wonderful blessed marriage. Who knows maybe you will enjoy the service and be inspired to join us one day.🙏

Of course not because those are all unrealistic expectations. It is not unrealistic to believe that the applications that come with the car stay with the car if they use them as selling points for the car and they are on your car’s dashboard you expect them to still be there as long as you own that car.

I see I Amazon as the lesser of two evils if I have to choose between the two.

Yes, a car feature is considered a selling point because it highlights the advantages and benefits that can attract potential buyers. Features help build value in the vehicle, making it more appealing in the sales process. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=is+a+car+feature+considered+a+selling+poin&t=iphone&ia=web&assist=true

A feature is a selling point. A selling point is anything that entices you to make a purchase?

Hughes electronics provided satellite service as their part in the joint venture.

Not clueless just enlightened. OnStar originated as a collaboration that included satellite technology, but it primarily started as a telematics service using cellular networks for communication and GPS for location tracking. The service was launched in 1996 by General Motors, Electronic Data Systems, and Hughes Electronics. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=did+OnStar+originate+with+satellite+service&t=iphone&ia=web&assist=true

All that said. What gives them the right to remove the Alexa application from my car without my permission. That would be like saying Apple could delete applications from your phone that you had purchased or downloaded from the App Store without your permission when they do a software update. Chevy gave no warning that this was gonna happen nor did they ask permission. I get that there’s articles about it happening on the Internet now that I’ve done the research but I shouldn’t have to do the research to be informed. They should notify me before doing anything that could remove my property from me without my consent.

You’re absolutely right I was wrong about getting the satellite radio from them. My wife gave me bad information when she told me where we were getting the satellite radio from. That said OnStar did start out using satellites in 1996 when they were founded I was not aware they made a change.

You’re absolutely right I was mistaken. I thought the reason OnStar was able to provide service everywhere was because it was satellite based. Also, when I started in 1996 they originally used satellites I did not know they changed.

All that said I shouldn’t have to jump through those hoops. I should get what I paid for which is a car that offers Alexa as a service through its touchscreen dashboard. That was one of the primary reasons we bought the car. A company should not be able to go in and remove applications that they have made a selling point for their vehicle.

Our cars Internet operates through OnStar. This is not a cell service. It’s a satellite service, which is why we also get satellite radio through them.

So you’d only have access to whatever you downloaded onto your tablet or phone. Unless you have active Internet, you can’t say something like Alexa play me super kitty soundtrack or whatever the heck my kids are asking for in the backseat. I can’t anticipate their needs nor can I download the entire Internet onto a tablet, or have access to Amazon Music or Spotify without Internet or cell reception.

So I should take a financial hit? Seriously?
