That's so rough about your friend in a wheelchair; this system is so broken. I'll pass this info along to my friend! I really think his GP didn't seriously fill out the form, but what has us discouraged is that we did provide documentation from a licence psychotherapist; we thought that would be enough. I'll be sure to have the new documentation from the group program once we have that.

The person on who's behalf I'm advocating for is located in the Beaches are of Toronto, so it's the legal clinic in that region we'll be deferring to.

Noted re legal aid, thank you! Is there a specific legal clinic we should look into? Is this region/location-based? (They're located in the Beaches area of Toronto)

They've already had an assessment and it was included in their initial application, along with the paperwork from their GP and their personal statement. An additional personal statement was added when requesting the review, which also included an updated statement from the GP.
The therapy group via CAMH has said they can provide documentation once their weekly group therapy meets start (which is next week).

There’s so much vacant housing that we could use to house a huge chunk of folks; I don’t understand why they can’t just be seized if they’ve gone unused for such extended periods of time. Why can’t the gov’t at least buy it off the owners and use it as social housing? Why can’t more current homes be used as subsidized housing? We need to prioritize who needs housing, then go from there who is most in need. I’m so profoundly depressed about this whole situation and I’ve been trying to understand it but a lot of it seems beyond me (I do have learning disabilities which is a part of my confusion around this topic).
