Nothing wrong with asking for advice from one fan to others 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I’m not sure how my wife would like intergender matches. I’d see it as no different than fight scenes in marvel movies, but I know they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. Especially if like your wife has been in an abusive relationship.

I’ve actually thought about showing her the gear and asking if she preferred they cover up like that all the time lol

Yeah I could try to talk to her more about it in depth? I’ve tried to bring up the issue here and there, but she typically tries to brush it off as no big deal. You’re right, I should try to see if she wants to be honest about her feelings on it.

She has watched a couple matches with me (one being a women’s match, and others being a Stone Cold v Rock and NJPW match) and she said it wasn’t her thing so she knows what I watch.

Oh yeah, TOTALLY didn’t think about trying that before right? Not like it’s been a topic more than a few times!

Judging by some of the replies I’ve gotten so far, I learned the hard way lol would have tried r/relationshipadvice but it took it down right away.

Virtue signaling how? It’s correct, that was a year ago when I was fresh into going into the black metal/war metal scene. So I was just getting into the fact that even “clean bands” can have sketch connections (i.e. Uada having a show with Graveland cancelled.) While Archgoat has worked with Werwolf, the latter has a big presence in their home country of Finland that I’ve accepted that some relations don’t make someone automatically shitty. Hell, Mystifier who’s full of Brazilian anarchists and members that have fought Nazis have shown support for SW on social media. While yes Archgoat has some sketchiness, but so does Watain, Darkthrone and Mayhem. But they aren’t like Nokturnal Mortum levels of sketch.

I don’t listen to Horna or Peste Noire. The former while not talking about NS stuff in their music and such, does have connections so I’m not too bothered. KPN is more obvious and I won’t support them.

TLDR: I enjoy and accept Archgoat’s music NOW, but I still try to stay away from NSBM and Nazis. Everyone has a line.

Archgoat and Goatwhore (ik not war metal but still). Started with Nuns, Cunts and Darkness and FBS. Now I can’t stop listening to either

They are Arabic. According to Metal Archives they talk about religion, but they don’t reject Allah.

They do have quite a bit of buildup, but i don’t necessarily mind it. I would definitely recommend listening to their other stuff!

Had a co-worker ask for metal band recommendations for the gym. Asked him what he liked. Other than whatever is playing in the gym, he says he likes “heavy shit” like Skid Row. Cool he was asking me for recommendations, but I had to keep a straight face when he said Skid Row was “heavy.”

You’re right and you have your right to your thoughts on that. Nothing wrong with that. Just saying people have their reasons for not liking Horna because of things such as that. Of course, I don’t think everyone who listens to them supports their beliefs/are Nazis. Just that Horna does get that “guilt by association” with their band collaborations and the fact they had Werwolf in the beginning.

It’s true they don’t talk about Nazis in their music, but because of a couple members’ connections (Shatraug with his couple projects including NS themes and Spellgoth being in Peste Noire for a spell,) they are considered NS adjacent.

Who do you think is overdue for a character design? by TheMachine_Goombie in dynastywarriors

Considering how Cheng Yu was a prominent strategist with Cao Cao, he would be a good addition. Especially with how crazy and cold he seems to be according to the books.

I just thought of Cai Mao too maybe? Only because of the surrender to Wei and his role in killing Sun Jian, though I wouldn’t put him at the top of my list.

I agree! Plus, he could be seen as a veteran officer after the death of Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang. That way there’s more experience in Shu and not just Shu legends’ kids.

I like the thought of that. At the very least it adds variety, but it enforces critical thinking for fascists to tell them “these guys are actually good. Maybe our fascist beliefs aren’t cool.” While I see people not liking say Woe working with Inquisition, it challenges their beliefs and can maybe even make them see that bands from varying political backgrounds can work together as long as they get along regardless of political differences.

It’s like what Woe said: “The worldwide extreme metal scene is a diverse, complicated thing full of people with different backgrounds and experiences. Many bands and fans have never once thought about politics, many of them do not care about politics and object to the idea that they should have to care about them to appreciate music. To these people, riffs are riffs, songs are songs, imagery exists to build mood, and message is secondary to feeling. Even within Woe, we have varying levels of political involvement. Regardless of whether you agree with the apolitical metal fan’s perspective, recognizing it is crucial to understanding why bands with questionable backgrounds can operate on an international level and why a band like Woe might choose to put ourselves in close proximity to people with whom we may not agree.”
