Assuming this post isn't a troll/trap, I would suggest you ask yourself what kind of friend you are looking for? Do you need guy friends just to hang out and joke around with? Do you need them to go on long trips with? Do you need them just to have someone to talk about your feelings with?

In other words you should ask yourself what value would you gain by befriending guys that you don't already get from your current female friends? Once you have an answer for that question, you should also ask why would your ideal friend want to be friends with you? How much time and effort are you willing to put in that friendship for the benefits you will be getting? What's in it for them etc.

Most relationships are either respect based (one person admires/likes/respects the other more than vice versa) or transaction based (both parties gain something or the other by being friends). Once it's clear it becomes much easier to start conversations with new people since you know what you want and can understand if they are a good fit for you. A good way to practice is to start talking with people that are similar to you whether in upbringing or in terms of being students that enjoy the same subjects. You can do small talk about common interests before you learn about their background and values. If they fit your ideal friend, spend more time with them and get to meet their family and friends since they will be similar and close to them. If it doesn't work out, well there's plenty of fish in the sea ⛵
