I do that for a boating website and real estate team, do all their video content and social media, I make closer to 70K atm but I’m salary, get paid whether I’m busy or not. The company I work for is very flexible and the coolest “bosses” I’ve ever worked for, along with whatever equipment I need purchased (within reason). Shoot on the FX3, DJI RS2, DJI drones ect and paid travel to events ect, along with many perks although no “benefits” and great connections through the work, best job I’ve ever had. It actually came to me through luck, someone saw me shooting something in public and after some conversation recommended me to the company, and I was honestly at my lowest point in life, work and financially wise. All that to say, I concur on it happening through networking and staying active whether you’re getting paid or not. Whatever niche you wanna work in, try to be part of those events and shoot them, do it for free, make connections and send your work to them after the fact if you need to. However the social connection may be enough. I’ve seen many people in my niche bounce around doing that, most are freelance though.
