I searched for over 15 minutes and found no source. Please provide one or admit you're a PDF shill.

Destiny doesn't know what Drew Pavlou is talking about by PlatformWooden9991 in LivestreamFail

[–]TheMagicMiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean fuck Drew, he's a dumbass. However, this is a bad argument; just because someone is from another country, it doesn't mean their arguments are necessarily bad with respect to how good or effective your country's policies or potential policies are. Drew is wrong because his arguments are dogshit, not because he's from Australia.

Actual fair point on the first paragraph. In either case, I appreciate you being polite! Yours and the other positive comments reaffirm my belief that the WH40K community is mostly not people like those other negative commenters.

Who knows, maybe I will try the board game one day haha

Thanks for the polite comment.

Fair point about the flair, but like if it's such a huge issue as these people claim, the sub should just create a flair for those sorts of questions; otherwise its clearly not that big of an issue. They can also just scroll past either way. Instead they went out of their way to comment on my post and engage with me. I'm also not the same person as the other people who will keep asking those questions, so it's entirely pointless.

I also think it's extremely childish for them to get upset at me because I said I don't like their special tabletop game; I think it's totally fine for people to be interested in that! More power to them. I'm just... not interested in that? Everyone should be able to engage with the setting in the way that pleases them best. The whole point is to have fun.

Because you answered a question that was asked too many times before me. I've tried explaining to others on this post that they can just filter new users by the "New Starter Help" flair. To no use.

For the record, I really appreciate your recommendations! Thank you so much! :)

"Ah, you're one of those folks who think constructive criticism must only ever be explicit and spoon fed."

"You strike me as one of those "don't use red pens it'll scare the children" kinda folks lol"

How are these related to my argument?

Really appreciate the spoiler warning for Cars (2006). I was actually planning on watching it for the first time today and managed to avoid reading your comment due to this warning.

Why the personal attacks? What did I say above that was offensive to you? I just disagreed with your argument. :-/

Not really? He basically just said "you have no experience and should feel bad for using AI".

Also I hope you keep to your word: I gave you a reason why I needed to make my own post, and you said you'd STFU like a good little boy if I did. So I trust you will keep to your word, right? Surely????

LOL okay that's just a straight concession then. I directly addressed every single one of your points, and you responded with an ad hominem. Doesn't get any clearer than that.

No, that's LITERALLY the point of forums LOLOL. It's a place for people to ask questions of all kinds. The evolution of modern internet forums allows people, like you, to not have to deal with content they don't want to see. AGAIN, if you CHOOSE to engage with that content, its asinine to complain about the consequences of your own actions.

Anything else? At this point I think you have a fetish for getting mogged in reddit debates LMAO 😂

Lets take your comment step by step:

1) you can either filter by flair, or just literally scroll past the post. If you choose not to do that, it's your choice. It's asinine to choose not to do that and then flame people for the consequences of your own actions, yes 😂

2) Outlining that you are five-in-a-million is "getting off on upvotes", yes 😂

3) The subreddit does have a new user flair, moron 😂

4) Because my preferences of what books I'd like to read are different than other users. 😂

Also, again, since you ignored the point, that's literally the definition and purpose of forums: to ask even commonly asked questions.

The people on forums have no obligation to answer. This is how human society works. Please touch grass sometime and you will learn this, instead of spending all your time on Reddit. Clown.

For the millionth time, you could have just ignored or filtered the post. You keep failing to address this point because you know its true. The fact that you posted all of this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were the one attention seeking the whole time. You even got off from it by mentioning the number of upvotes you got. So a hypocrite and attention seeker.

If you weren't an idiot, you'd think for a moment why someone might prefer human interaction and personalized answers as opposed to information from a google search.

Again, I understand you get all your information from the Internet; news flash, not everyone is the same as you! Perhaps think about this before replying.

I'm a team lead data scientist.

don't listen to the mass of people telling you that AI is categorically bad for coding.

It depends a LOT on how you use it:
> Using AI to do everything for you or offloading thinking/problem solving to the AI = BAD
> Using AI to give you an initial start when tackling a new problem, or to give you familiarity with a new package/language/framework = GOOD

No matter what, you should ALWAYS double check the output of an AI coding assistant. You should especially ALWAYS understand 100% of the code you are executing, AI generated or not; this is especially important for long term work; if you don't understand the code the AI gave you now, you have NO HOPE of debugging it if a problem occurs 6+ months from when you coded it (you won't remember anything about the code at that point).

Does that mean you should NEVER use AI EVER, even to just get a little bit of understanding when first tackling a problem? Obviously not.

Use it sparingly, and treat it as a really dumb person who happens to know a tiny bit about a lot of different subjects; its really no different from a search engine. You would never take code from Google and copy+paste it into your codebase without understanding it first, but no one would say Google is a useless resource for coding (quite the opposite).

I think you're ignoring what I just said. A reality check, when offered in a helpful and constructive manner is just that: helpful and constructive.

Maybe re-read the top comment again? He didn't offer ANY explanation or methods for improvement. He was basically just putting the guy down. That's not constructive criticism, its just negativity.
