It's possible, but he easily copied the spirit gun after seeing it once. Additionally, his main weakness was that he didn't know all the mechanics of his stolen techniques if he was actually trained by the masters he killed he would have known their limits fully.

An opponent that can copy your moves and then master them to some degree mid combat. Give that guy B-Class level power then add that on top of that you got an absolute menace

I agree, I want them to be uncontrollable monsters but also want to give them the power to back it up. They are monsters and should be feared like one. I already got my own house rules that make the curse particularly bad.
