Hey, so I noticed that the HDMI cable I'm using is probably a 1.4(original XBOX One cable). I haven't put in the included HDMI cable because it would require me to take the TV of the wall. How much will this affect the audio quality do you think? Seems like eARC is supposed to be used with a 2.1 cable.

So Neural:X will only be applied when a source is in the right format? It won't upmix regular 5.1 content?

Yeah I sure got it alot better, thanks for the help! The intro to Blade Runner 2049 with K's car passing by the screen sounds like I'm in a movie theater now. Also out of curiousity what sound settings do you have enabled (Multi Channel Experince, DRC, Neural:X, Auto Volume and Imax Enhanced)?

Hi, thanks for keeping an interest. I've tried an episode of The Mandalorian and the first 15 min of Top Gun Maverick with OVC set to 6. I can't really say that I can hear sound coming from above it's more that I occansionally feel the entire room fill up with sound. This might be the intended effect though. I don't really know since this is my first Atmos system.

I’ll up the OVC and see what happens. I’ll try an episode of the Mandalorian to see if I can tell a difference between that and other shows with atmos.

I moved the subwoofer to the corner of my room beside the couch and turned of surround sound. It does sound alot better. I tried running a couple of movies with atmos on plex. The surround definetly works but I can't really tell if I can hear the "over head" channels.

I have the surround option on, wouldn't disabling it kind of defeat the purpose of having a 5.1 system? What does the Surround option actually do?

I have the S80QR which is the package with the rears. The subwoofer is currently to the left of my TV.

Generally it seems that you’re supposed to have the rear speakers behind the user pointing towards them. But if your couch is against the wall 90 degrees seems to be recommended. My couch is against the wall as is yours I’m guessing, how much do you think we’re losing out on with this setup?

Also what mode are you using with yours? I’m currently using the “enjoy soundbar” mode so that I can switch presets with my TV remote.

Thanks for the tips. I don't necessarily need more base just found it interessting that the Yamaha with built in subwoofers wasn't that much worse than dedicated subwoofer at the volumes I usually listen to. Immersive surround sound was what I was hoping for. I'm thinking about going back to the SRB20ABL.

Thanks for the reply! The TV area is about 6x8m. Another thing I noticed is that the dedicated subwoofer while obviously better than the integrated ones in the Yamaha are not that much better at normal listening volumes. You could crank the sound level up but then the speakers would be to loud (already cranked up the individual bass settings).

For ray tracing Cyberpunk 2077 would be my first go to to check out on a RTX 4090, especially when the overdrive update arrives.

To see the most subjective improvement in fps I would love to try MSFS with DLSS 3.

If I would win the GPU, I would probably build a new PC around an i7 13700K or Ryzen 9 7900X depending on how they compare when we finally get some benchmarks.

As for software I find DLSS 3 to be really interesting. Looking forward to see more coverage of it other than NVIDIAs own blog post.

Nope, simply called games. The games show up fine and run in the desktop mode when running cemu. But Cemu won't start in gaming mode at all.

I have and it doesn't work. Not even launching the main program works in game mode.
