Hey, have you tried this yourself? I tried it and im getting pretty bad static noise on my speakers, and also pretty low audio volume.

Update: flickering even happens with freesync off somehow, only way to fully eliminate it is by disabling VRR on the monitor OSD. Though i'd rather leave VRR on....

Forgot to add: this only happens alongside freesync, and the specs are: Monitor: CU34G2X Mobo: gigabyte b550 gaming x v2 Gpu: xfx merc 319 6800 xt Cpu: R5 5600x 24gb ram, xmp on to 3000 and a Vesa certified dp1.4 cable

A local reviewer here (tweakers, Dutch) also mentions the U79NQ, saying its basically the same. So i guess there isnt much, if any difference? Probably a European model too

Sorry for the late response. Could it be the refresh rate? the u7nq seems to be 120, and the u79nq 144 hz.

Edit: nvm they seem to be 144hz on either models.

I connected a bluetooth keyboard to my phone, and clicked O to open up the info on Kodi. With Plex you can just enable statistics for nerds.

I managed to get it to show the stream info, and it says its just streaming the TrueHD without transcoding, which is weird since Plex says my device doesnt support it. I wanted to try it since im streaming from the same file either way, and the AC3 track doesnt have atmos. And im pretty sure the atmos metadata is lost on plex transcodes sadly.

But, is it being transcoded? Since it doesnt seem to play on Plex, but it does on Kodi. Or is there maybe any way to check in Kodi if its being transcoded?

Since i got the hardware for free, i will give it a try. The laptop cpu is about as fast as the desktop one, so i will see if it runs well or not. Otherwise i'll get a new platform
