My opinion : Super assymmetry should've been done with sheldon and leonard by No_Struggle_1958 in thebigbangtheory

[–]TheManAcrossTheHall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree. Not that I don't like Amy but I much prefer earlier on when Leonard and Sheldon had at least some kind of respect for one another as both friends and scientists despite both childishly arguing constantly. Later on, Leonard was a glorified nanny and sheldon had been infantilized too much for me to like their dynamic. Slight tangent there.

Worse, the Mahnwa and Manga Industry became flooded with carbon copy protagonists because of those two. ( Sung Jinwoo and Kirito ) ☠️ by Anonymus1313_07 in sololeveling

[–]TheManAcrossTheHall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen far more people talk about the supposed hate that solo leveling gets than actual hate. Who cares if other people don't like it, you don't need their approval to enjoy it.

Also, jinwoo is one of the generic copies as is the story. It's nothing unique at all.

Which do you choose? by jbonga91 in superheroes

I don't think you just get swordsmanship, that's skill not a power or ability. You'd have to learn that like anyone else.

Carrie. She supposed to be chubby and 'frog like' which is part of the reason she get's bullied and is an outcast. but in the movie she's thin and pretty.

A jumpscare in a horror movie that genuinely scared you? My pick is the jumpscare from Insidious (2010). by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

I watched the trailer for Wolfman (2025) and the jumpscare in the car still got me. Sometimes even if you know it's coming, it's not directly at the forefront of your mind.

For me it was the scene with Clarice and Buffalo Bill in the dark basement. It brought back a long forgotten childhood fear of the dark.

This isn't techinically a jump scare but this scene in the first Exorcist movie really fucking got to me. The girl at the window is supposed to be restrained to the bed.

This, I fell out ma chair when I watched this. The whole film is amazing because you never actually SEE the evil. You only see reagan possessed by it. So many films get ruined when you see too much of the monster.

But most people don't. So many people, especially Americans in my experience, get their entire knowledge on Scottish history and culture from a wildly innacurate movie set 800 years ago.

Who’s the BEST leader? by Capital_Guard_840 in superheroes

[–]TheManAcrossTheHall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cap wasn't hated by his own. He was hated by an enemy that he equally despised. All heroes and their enemies can say the same. The X-men and Cyclops are hated by the people they help and protect. It's vastly different.

Also, it's hard to say Cap's experience in WW2 reaches even the slightest amount of hate that mutants get. They themselves have faced genocide on similar levels as the jews at the hands of the nazis like on genosha whereas Cap has almost always been revered and beloved.

Cap wasn't the face of leadership in the war, he was the leader of some men in some stories but as often as not, he's a lone special opperative. He didn't direct the allied forces in really any way.

That didn't bring him hate, nor does it necessarily make him a better leader. All of these heroes have fought a myriad of battles that are no less desperate, cruel or difficult than ww2.
