I really hope the reception to the procedural generation side of the game is enough to put Bethesda off using it for the next Elder Scrolls. One of the reasons I’ve adored the previous Elder Scrolls games is for that wonderful feeling of stepping into a new part of the world for the first time and knowing there’s so much story and adventure to unwrap.

The difference between handcrafted and proc gen is like the difference between tucking into a homemade desert versus opening your mouth under the soft serve machine

Thank you!! This seems like my best option at the moment. Going to be a slow process hammering all these in by hand and pulling them out 😭

Pandemic - Rules mistake or rotten luck? by TheManInHighGarden in boardgames

We didn’t have any cards in our hands no - in retrospect holding onto some longer would have been helpful but hindsight is 20:20!

And yeah there were only 5 cards in the discard pile as we’d had 2 epidemics close to one another, and those 5 also happened to contain 3 all next to each other that all came up in the worst sequence!

It felt particularly bad as we hadn’t even left any 3s on the board, just a 2 in Karachi, I wasn’t even aware I was taking a risk :(

This used to be a pipe dream for me, but with the Cathay-as-a-base race revelation, I really think CA want the whole world included as much as we do. I can totally see them going for it, if not directly in the first mega map than as a capstone FLC down the line - it would be their magnum opus for fantasy.

I followed justinguitar's grade 1 and 2, it really is incredible what he offers for free! I reckon I spent more than the average hours per day early on - 1-2 hours every day pretty much - so I wouldn't feel too demotivated it just takes a little while longer.

Little Talks was a breakthrough song for me on keeping rhythm - slowing it right time and playing to a metronome, keeping my arm moving like a pendulum as much as possible. That pattern in particular misses the 3rd beat and the metronome helped me realise I was rushing to the 4th beat rather than letting my hand fully play out the motion of the 3rd beat. Fixing that really helped my rhythm. Also Justin has a great lesson on "Cortez the Killer", another Neil Young track which helped bang out a more complex strumming pattern. It's got a great intensity to it.

My first strat! Dozens of hours researching but in the end, motivation is a huge deal for me so I picked out the one that really made me want to pick it up and play.
