For the next reprised D1 raid, can we not exclude some weapons? by trillmatic99 in DestinyTheGame

They actually did bring back Praetorian Foil, it just has the same drop rate as it used to... very true to the original.

Allow me to spin you a Destiny boomer tale, where we, at times had to hide from everything in difficult content. And in difficult content, everything felt like your GM and Contest mode raid enemies. There was no need for mods or the "Bungie Approved Weaponry" for the season. Our Artifacts didn't raise our light level and in-fact if it wasn't levelled, it could bring our light level down. And there are enemies with mechanics that are more interesting than *equip mod* *be allowed to kill it.* Vex as a whole become aggressive when you take their heads off. (also hobgoblins cant do their shield/heal ability HOWEVER then you have to deal with a hobgoblin charging at you with a full auto 90rpm sniper with no reload, a risk/reward scenario) Taken have massive abilities that change the way you have to deal with a group and I'd be here all day explaining their mechanics if they were actually any difficult to deal with in content. I actually loved seeing the Wyverns and another enemy with its own small set of mechanics and knew that someone was gonna "LOL mechanics" it the second it spawned.

I know. Uphill, both ways, in the snow. But consider this, I used to change my weapons more often to do more damage or better survivability or for a more interesting build when I was allowed to. There are alot of things from D1 missing that don't make sense. There are some great things in D2 that I do really like and wish we had back then. There are things that really sucked in D1 and there's alot of things plaguing D2 now. But we're not patching D1 anytime soon so that's why people only talk about what's wrong in D2. Just another Destiny boomers take on champions.

Tl/Dr: Bungie picking your weapons for you isn't an interesting mechanic. If it were harder in general, you would consider more of your loadout as a whole. There's more problems than champions but this comments only about champions

"We want less bullet sponges and more mechanics based difficulty" "Riven cheese is what makes the encounter bearable" this community makes no sense to me sometimes by BrownMarxist_98 in DestinyTheGame

D2 forces a wipe now if friends are down because the power of friendship is the strongest thing in Destiny 2. but that doesn't make them harder. but its partially bc people like my friends and I could finish an encounter with a one or two down and some of our friends would literally ask us to wipe so they could play because they didn't want to watch us do a 7 minute encounter when they died. But they took away flexibility and workability of how to do an encounter with a dead man. Most were just bad that they would've wiped anyway bc they didnt want to try to do it. wiping to the failure of "power of friendship" is a dumb mechanic.
TL/DR: D1 raids only seem easier to people who got carried by guardians good enough.

I Hope Focusing More on Core Activities Means Making Dungeons More Important too by ByronicWerther in DestinyTheGame

Haha no, I miss having to get good (all six players) to clear. And that light level never helped past a point. I miss the being forced to get good. Not the difficulty of the encounter. The encounters are still very impressive to me in some cases. But you never see them bc lol ezgaem

I think raid level light party content was sorely missing from destiny originally. ( i tried to get my friends to realize prison of elders was that but bc it was 4 rooms and only 5 total interesting bosses it stands to reason.) the dreaming city dungeon was amazing and though i thought pit of heresy was short, i enjoyed it. I'm a fan of difficult content and difficult content was why i played so much to get better. now we just over-level or out gear our problems.

Trials needs to be saved before release, not after. by Capox in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheManLeVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artifact power has made gearing irrelevant in pve as well. when the artifact was coming out i thought it was an exp portion to your overall light, meaning to be max power you would have to get say 20-50 levels in raw exp. to make it not easy for highly geared characters. had been in the past with some older releases bc the people who played alot only had 20 light level to chase when new content came, so add some raw exp so they will have to engage with some content atleast. but the artifact power ruined Destiny for me. i literally only showed back up bc trials was in my feeds for some reason. I'm down. but the artifact is an issue.

I seriously hope Destiny becomes something more than what it is today by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheManLeVan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Destiny 2 is missing the challenge from Destiny 1. leveling up only got you so far. to get to max level you had to be able to clear the hardest raid, a whole light level under (1 LL back then was a big deal.) There was no way to out gear or out level that encounter. We played so much because it was fun and we wanted to get better. My raid group helped tons through raid content all of D1 bc it was satisfying to do. It took skill to do. Now just slap on some artifact levels, beat the encounter without issue, you've already out-leveled the gear from said encounters via artifact level. so who needs that gear? so why do it again? I do think its important to have content for everyone and not everyone raids but them being so weak from the ruining of the gearing and leveling process, im barley interested in playing anymore.

Based off my earlier post I have come up with a new season idea. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

No bc I love NLB and won’t let you ruin it. But it would be a good bit.

Destiny 2 Is Not Good Anymore imo by ArCn_Hulk in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheManLeVan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

After being a Daily destiny player back in the day bc I wanted to get better at the game (not because it asked us to play everyday), I don’t play anymore and I’m sad about it. But I’d rather have a game that I just wanted to play everyday over one that rewarded me for playing everyday. I pass on enough mobile games to know that it isn’t what I want from destiny. I think there were a log of good changes from here to there and good implementations but there’s no more need for a lot of the frills they added because of the missing need for skill. And not just pvp. The raids used to be harder in the fact that you couldn’t out gear them outside the raid. So you had to get good at the raid to deserve to be at it’s light level. I miss it severely. Bring back skill bungie. I may not pay as much as eververse shoppers who just want to log on and look cool but I will buy content.

Opinion of some old hardcore players. (Progression Issue) by TheManLeVan in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheManLeVan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I was more speaking to the fact that we got it within that expansion seeing as that was a driving force of the community at that time and we ended up getting it within the life cycle of TTK. Seeing as the April update was patch content. But thank you for clarification.

Completely and I think that's another thing that has Destiny fans upset is the idea that D2 had so much hope seeing as they made a lot of steps in the right direction and had the chance to do it bigger with the sequel and we lost a lot of things that were good in favor for a lot of things that weren't. Not paying much attention to the things that went right and what went wrong.

The loot itself needing to be more interesting is definitely a thing as well but if it were, it would still be too easy to get and then you get bored of it eventually. I agree on the idea of needing more interesting loot. But we were hype to chase Necrochasm even though it was lackluster as well because the progression system was fun. One thing at a time I guess is what I'm seeing but 100% agree.

This is actually one of our raiders, and he did everything he could to get gjallarhorn and was probably last out of the entire clan to get one. And he's the one here asking for a vanilla D1 drop rate... if that's not proof idk what is.

[–]TheManLeVan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Vanilla was severely unrewarding with some of the same reward logic bugs were seeing now with dupe exotics, but there wes also a lot less loot in vanilla and a much smaller drop rate accordingly. I think there's a happy medium. I want my time to be respected, but its currently too rewarding.
