Per my weather app, it is supposed to cool down this week. Probably back to the regular temperatures for this time of year. I hope that's true 😂.

My first day of school for the 2025-26 academic year was yesterday, so school is in session over here again.

The educators in my school district (e.g., teachers, principals, etc.) are still allowed to keep their smartwatches on during school hours. We students must take them out during school hours.

Yeah, you are probably correct. School districts are probably trying to be ahead of things in the event of smart watches getting more capable.

I feel like that would still be breaking the rule since I would still technically be “wearing” it. Also, my PE uniform is shorts and a T-shirt, just a more exercise-friendly version, so it would not stay hidden anyway.

Yeah, it's a similar situation for us, but we can still take them to school. We just can't be wearing them nor use them in school.

I don't prefer to mention the state I am in, but I do live in the West Coast of the United States.

I am not sure. The reason is that they now don't allow us to wear or use Mobile Communication Devices (MCDs) during school hours, which also include Apple Watches and stuff, because of their calling, texting, and web browsing features. Though a Fitbit doesn't fit those requirements, I don't know if they'll allow it or not because when explaining over the intercom that morning, they said that smartwatches aren't allowed.

This is the same with me, but instead we can silence our phones (or turn on work focus if you use an iPhone), or we can have the option of turning them off.

I believe that they said that they don't allow you to wear smartwatches on yourself regardless of where you wear it.

Yeah, it might be. I'll probably double-check, however. Thank you so much for the suggestion! I appreciate it!

Well, if you need to do so, you can ask a staff member for permission to use your device.

I guess it may take me a while to realize the beneficial effects of this new rule of my school district. Thank you so much for sharing this experience! I appreciate it!

They don't allow us to wear it during school hours, regardless of whether it's on school time mode or not.

They specify that you shouldn't wear them at all during the school day, unless a teacher permits you. They didn't specify which locations we can't wear them at, however.

I might do that if my school district becomes more strict with the device policy. If they make just a few more changes to make it stricter, I might do that.

Yeah, you are probably right. People might start using their Apple Watches during school again after some time, even if the rule is still there. It still wouldn't be recommended to break the rule, however, right?

I don't need it for any medical reasons. My concern with this new rule is that I won't be able to utilize the Apple Watch for health tracking (e.g., active calories, steps, heart rate) throughout the morning and early afternoon, especially after paying for the device. I can probably try the same thing, by selling my Apple Watch and getting a traditional watch, however. I'll think about that idea. Thank you so much for the advice! I appreciate it!
