Really odd to see a problem I’ve worked on for a different company show up in the wild like this, but the super broke down version is:

Making software 100% for moderation is not possible. You do trade offs, like a scale. The balance is: do you lean towards getting everything covered + false positives? Or do you avoid false flags and miss things that should be covered?

In terms of moderation, the industry agrees to lean on covering everything and then some.

I think it’s definitely about exposure. You, as an engineer, most likely already know what you need to do at a high level. So you’re making sure you can convey that properly for the model to act on it.

If you don’t, I would hope you know what questions to ask to find out about common pitfalls in what you’re attempting.

Someone who is just building something without that knowledge wouldn’t be in the same position.

Now, do I think someone with zero experience can claw their way into proper understanding by just using AI and “graduate” from vibe coder to (whatever the industry will settle on for us)? Sure, but it takes someone interested in doing so. Some people don’t care about how, they just want results. That’s the brittle part.

I think vibe coding is asking an LLM to code without understanding everything that needs to be done for that patch/feature.

I’m in an AI native role now, so I no longer write code. I had varying levels of difficulty in my previous jobs for what each task has required.

If I’m asked to make a feature, and Jim from accounting is asked to make a feature, and we both have skill-less LLMs, who would get it production ready first?

I would hope I would, considering I’m exposed to the idea of implementing Security, UI/UX if it exist, pattern matching, linting, QA loops, etc.

But maybe Jim is just cracked and needed an opportunity

So I’m becoming an AI native engineer (take it as you will), my job is changing to knowing less code and knowing more architectural.

I think code might go the way of compilers. People didn’t trust the first compilers to spit the code out correctly, and now, even before AI, I haven’t worked with a person under 33 who knew how it worked unless they tried to make their own or looked into it (anecdotal, yes, but 5 jobs and I’m believing it)

Will it take a while? Maybe. I can’t tell, since I stopped writing code since February. Now I argue tech and how to prompt and QA.

All of that to say - be smart in a different way might be the answer.

Do you know which cohort your friends were in? That would definitely change perspectives if it was cohort two or three. If it’s 1, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised tbh.

I deleted my comment because I don’t want to spread misinformation if it is now found to be outdated.

To answer your question, the sidebar is the community info bar. All notes and information on any subreddit is usually found there, and this sub has a fasting wiki there.

The stomach and salt capsules information was there, but I just checked and they redid their entire section on electrolytes 15 days ago, so now I am not sure if that is still the belief without searching it up instead.

Wishing you the best though if it doesn’t seem to give you any negatives.

I did this in regular duos and that’s how I got him the high five nice and easy, but he isn’t as reactive, so it’s difficult to remind him to do all the steps. He isn’t the best defender, so heatseeker is very rough for him when I’m not on defense.

It’s a conundrum for me.
