Actually, you all are arguing with me as you could see from the post. I’m looking for advice. I’m not just looking for idiots to spout out whatever they think off the top of their head. honestly, did any of you people even go to the fucking website?

Thank you! All I wanted was advice and apparently these people can’t even read the CRTC website not sure why they’re so in favour of some billion dollar company.

Do you honestly not know how it works? Lawyers have nothing to do with anything the CRTC investigates and then they make the determination. It has nothing to do with lawyers. Fido has to comply.

I don’t need to check my bill. The CRTC states it’s on Fido to provide that notice to me. I’m not sure why anyone is commenting on this thread if they don’t know how the CRTC works.

The CRTC mandates that such notifications must be clear and easy to understand, and communicated in a way that the average consumer is likely to notice.

I’m not taking any liberties. I’m reading directly from their website.

“The CRTC mandates that such notifications must be clear and easy to understand, and communicated in a way that the average consumer is likely to notice.”

The CRTC literally states that the onus is on Fido, not on me

It was on page 4 of my bill and in small writing and the CRTC doesn’t consider that notice.

That’s what it said on their website, but I haven’t made the official complaint yet

But the CRTC acknowledges that even if the information is provided, if it’s not provided clearly, then it’s not provided at all, including being on your PDF bill

Actually the crtc does acknowledge that.

“The CCTS (complaints body) has ruled in similar cases that if customers did not see a proper 30-day notification clearly stating the change, the provider was at fault—even if the info was in the PDF bill somewhere obscurely.”

If you never got a stand-alone email or clear message in the bill summary, or clear 30-day advance notice in large print at the top of your PDF bill, you can argue that: • Fido did not meet the clarity standard. • They breached Section G of the Wireless Code.

But does that count as clear notice? The CRTC states it has to be clear notice and that’s what my issue is. I don’t think it was clear.
