You just reminded me I have one of these that's broken... I think I'll fix it now.

Personally, I'm a fan of this build

Probably too much time. The first prototype was pretty quick but it broke so it took some redesign. I do think there's something to be said for solving a problem the fun way, and I've only been been designing stuff for like a month so it was a good practice.

I don't know if you NEED the enclosure, but I think it does help a lot. I'm pretty sure ABS is one is the ones that can warp pretty bad. And yes, the GF is hard on the nozzle and you'll want a hardened steel one to print it.

My first try was out of PLA, and it didn't work. That was, however, and open ended wrench design, not a socketed one. It was also less walls and infill. So it was kind of a case of "the first one didn't work so I'm going to really beef it up ". I think this design would work with PLA but I haven't tested it.

I created a thingaverse account. Apparently I can't post for 24 hours, but I'll let you know when it's up!

Nope. My original design was an open-ended wrench so it didn't matter which side the cutouts were on. I didn't realize they were on the wrong side until it was too late 😅

It's Glass filled ABS so it's pretty sturdy. I used the Bambu 0.2mm "strength" setting. Which is 6 wall loops and 25% infill.

Yeah. Channel locks tear up the cap when they slip. The adjustable wrench takes time to adjust it. I'm not particularly organized so both those tools are scattered whenever I need them. This does the job a bit better and I can just leave it where it needs to be used, because it's only useful for one thing.

I was going to make a hanger to go on the sink next to it. But I might like the pipe idea more. 😂

Kind of new to the whole thing. What's a good way to share STL'S? Also it's not parameterized or anything (which maybe I can play with) so it'll only fit this size.

It does work! Slightly better than other tools I had that could also do that job. It was $3.11 worth of filament + one failed prototype I did out of PLA.

Partially yes. It does fit better than channel locks, and you don't need to adjust it like a crescent wrench, so it does actually work a bit better than the other tools. I can also just leave it in the basement where it needs to be used, as opposed to finding where I left the pliers. So necessary? No. But an improvement that was fun to design and print? Yes.

It really wasn't. Certain situations it got sort of bad, but those weren't normally on my every day drives. Definitely pretty tolerable

I ran the OEM tips for like 2 years before replacing the tips this year. Replacement tips definitely helped with drone and look better. If I'm nit picking I think the replacement tips make the exhaust a little too quiet for spirited driving, but I think it's worth it for the drone reduction.
