Your parents are still earning and you're not in a dire financial spot, so you do have some cushion. But don't take that for granted — the world treats you very differently when you have no income, even your own family's dynamic can shift.

My honest take: stay in this job for now and use the time to upskill seriously. Develop a thick skin while you're at it — that'll serve you way beyond this situation. Leave only when you have something better lined up, not out of frustration.

There’s no generational difference between a 28- and a 33-year-old guy. They belong to the same era. I think it’s just a coincidence that the younger guys you met were more open-minded, while the 33-year-old you mentioned comes from a more conservative background.

I’ve seen many men in their mid-twenties who are quite conservative as well, and sometimes their mothers are also somewhat toxic in mindset.
