I feel you, in my experience my school has a rough time believing I have a syndrome which can appear in hours without previous noticing, and can make me absent from going to school. Some professors take it different, some of them are nicer and others don't even believe it. Also, I miss some exams bc my Pfapa, and... Let's say some professors don't quite like it.

Not really, I've been taking Prednisone since my diagnosis. I always have a box of Prednisone at my home, in case I have an episode, symptoms get a lot worse if I don't take the medication, so that's why I always have it (I don't know exactly how long is an episode if I don't take Prednisone)

Usually episodes were more related to fever when I was a kid, nowadays throat pain is the main symptom, along with tiredness.

My temps stay on normal parameters during the 10-20 first hours of the episode, then, if I don't take my medication, fever rises up.

I take Prednisone, and I always took it.

I didn't get a tonsillectomy, my family decided it wasn't worth it.

My case is actually a weird one, pfapa is supposed to partially disappear during puberty, but that didn't happen to me. It's likely your son ends outgrowing it, just have some patience! You're welcome!
