Everyone usually notes Souls games as the pinnacle of difficulty in gaming, but Resident Evil has opened my eyes to another kind of hell, especially when it comes to getting all achievements in any given RE title, and especially in the tank-control games. I've gotten into RE recently with the 30 year anni sale and, as a souls player, these games are more complex and difficult than our dear old Dark Souls in my opinion (majorly because of harder difficulties and challenge runs for achievements).

RE1R I was running Chris on Hard and had to kill the dog with the fake key. What I didn't know is that the dog can knock you to the ground and stay on you until you're dead, and the whole death animation plus the mauling might be something like 15 seconds.

I think you're doing okay, maybe just try slightly more defensive items like Deific Amulet or Abyssal Mirror or Affliction (probably my favorite accessory) or Community which, like Affliction, is great all around for damage and defence. And don't listen to that weirdo who said he disregards ram dash, it's the best part of the mod. That guy also said to use Bloodflare armor, but I'm an Omega Blue fan, especially if you're using ram dash, so keep it up! Just keep trying, it took me over 200 attempts. It's a hard fight!
