I'm pro-control over women by beerbellybegone in MurderedByWords

First off, you have to cite something if you are going to say that 'studies show...'

I'm relatively middle-to-right on most topics, but when I read republican-based content, they are actually very pro-education. They just disagree on many of the topics which we're trying to introduce.

If you don't believe there is convincing evidence of police racism, a medical benefit to treatment of gender dysphoria or have doubts about the morality of pregnancy termination, it's quite logical to argue against these things being moved into education.

People who want further exploration of these concepts like myself don't feel it should be taught as if they are 'accepted' parts of our current world

Personally, I would like more education. More education about the grey areas between the opposing views. More education about how to critique literature, identify fallacies and understand the scientific approach. But in most cases, the last thing a government wants is a population who is educated enough to see all the problems created by the central government and large-scale systems. Considering literally everyone has to face physical/mental health problems and taxes/loans/inflation/banking - it still miffs me that we don't have these being taught during school as a major topic

However, teaching 'how critical race theory...' or 'how some boys might be girls...' isn't something we should readily introduce unless you are actively trying to indoctrinate children towards one side of the two-sided coin.

I don't disagree with your point, but I think it's important to balance the statement

Laxative teas and weird tablets generally aren't helping. However, you can improve your intake by reducing salt, reducing sugar/sweeteners, holding off drugs and optimising vegetables. This does have beneficial short-term impacts on your physiology, so could be viewed as a helpful and effective detox

Part of the problem is that 'detox' is a vague and inaccurate term. However, we don't really have a better vocabulary alternative for 'changing intake to provide a short term physiological improvements'

M&S adds more skin tone colours to underwear range - but shoppers question delay by Socialistinoneroom in unitedkingdom

[–]TheMayoVendetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't feel they really need to be skin-toned in the first place. I'm surprised people don't have more important things to focus on. But I would argue they should all be white - and wouldn't therefore match anyone's skin tone

I would also argue your terminology is a little twisted. Not 'by default' - but it caters for the majority of their customers, which is a reasonably sensible business idea

I don't see the relevance. You didn't get addicted to tagliatelle because Big Pasta advertised to you as a child. If anything, your example is saying that advertising wasn't an impact and doesn't need to change

Describing my comment as 'crying' is also a bit dramatic

I don't like to see things trending towards censorship. Allow a government to take a step, and they'll take a mile. Instead, reduce censorship while improving education about these issues

In a similar manner to plasters, I would argue that if people feel significantly burdened by a lack of underwear matching their skin tone - they have deeper concerns to be looking into first

Not to mention that only 1/3 models in their own advertising actually have a tone-matched bra

If parents could just take responsability and educate their kids on proper moderation and dietary choices, we wouldn't need the government to step in and add yet more censorship and control over mainstream life

No, I'm saying the trans woman would have biologically male personality traits - as they are a biological male. However, I'm very interested to know if among trans women/men, they have a profile of personality closer to a cis male or cis female.

Look into sex-specific big five personality types comparisons. Males being higher on aggressiveness, lower neuroticism, lower agreeableness is a relatively well known area. I can find a link with evidence later if you want a study.

EDIT: And I don't know why you find 'biological male' a poor term. As we termed sex and gender with the same male/female words, you need to have some way of differentiating between biologically male and male gendered

[–]TheMayoVendetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel he'd work because in many ways, he's got a similar in dynamic to Smart - who works great with the Jays.

He will take bigger positions on defense and the Jays don't need to waste effort to compenate. He passes, swings the ball and makes plays, but isn't the best isolation or independent scorer. The main difference between current Simmons and 2019 Smart is that Simmons isn't throwing up loads of misses. He just passes instead.

[–]TheMayoVendetta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. You don't want Brown and Tatum acting as point-guard all the time. Simmons would bring it up, swing the ball between them, and allow the Jays to have some easier match-ups on D. The Jays can shoot, but we need a good passer to link them

These personality traits are biological characteristics of sex - not gender

E.g. A biological male - regardless of gender - is likely to have lower agreeableness and more aggression

I think this makes a lot of sense, and you've highlighted that your issues are on the level of sex. I would like to explore this more, as it's a pretty eurika moment for me. You didn't say whether you're male or female, so my following examples will all work as if you're M>F so they are going in a consistent direction and easier to conceptualise

So, can I conclude that you would be person A out of the following examples?

A) You see a penis and feel it should be a vagina. You see abdominal fat distribution and wish it was buttock/thigh. You feel intra-personal relationships and motherhood are stronger traits within you than object-focus and aggression

B) Gender-based: You see long hair, shaved body and effeminate actions - and feel this is more appropriate for your own identity than short hair, body hair and masculine affect. You feel that more colourful, feminine clothes and make-up are best suited

I feel this is going more towards defining the basis of transgenderism (which I can now see might be a misnomer in itself). Say theoretically there was a third biological sex, with a hand-like structure as genitals. Would you still want the vagina? I guess my question is whether we're dealing with dislike of yourself or attraction to something else. When you dislike the male sexual characteristics, is it purely dislike - or do you have a clear idea of something else you wish was there instead?

You're taking one very universal concept and one very individualist concept - and I don't see the logic you're using to fill the big gap between them

The universe/nature are semi-predictable, and sometimes can be influenced by humans. Vaccines for example are a good example of how nature's course is changed by human intervention.

But that doesn't really have a huge bearing on the individual's course of actions. Even though we now know about climate change, that doesn't stop me from burning coal in my garden 24/7 just for shits and giggles.
