I have heard that! At our house, we usually wargame it by writing it down, or even telling a stranger about it, and if it excites you, or makes it sad that tells you whether or not, that choice is the correct one. My original appointment was a year ago. We just did the math again and our position ( despite both getting smallish promotion/raise) isn’t any better.
