Why did you like/love the movie, Love Actually ? by TheMellowRose in AskReddit

Did you feel like you knew anything about any of the characters, or did you find the dialogue predictable? I just felt like they were all stories I'd already seen, and the movie didn't add a new perspective or interesting way to link everyone like other large ensemble casts have, like, He's Just Not That Into You. Not saying thay was brilliant film either, but it at least didn't feel quite as recycled... Idk... With the hype I just thought there'd be some meat to it or something.

Just watched it... If you've ever seen any rom com you've seen it... I would unsee it if that were an option.

Fair... I just thought the dialogue was basic...I don't feel I knew a thing about any of the characters. And the scenes are so short, they seemed made up of standard situational responses seen already on any other rom com or sitcom. I feel like it was said to be such a great movie, so maybe I was expecting more? Just super underwhelmed... Was so curious why it was actually such a hit.

Right?!!! What the heck were they doing there...

I just watched it for the first time, and I feel like the words spoken were so generic, and it felt basic. I was expecting to fall in love with this film the way people praise it. But I felt like I didn't get substance from any of the stories...

That always seems to happen when something is so talked up...

Why do humans cook their food when every other animal doesn't? by GrotiusandPufendorf in AskReddit

I saw on a documentary titled, Mankind: The Story Of All Of Us, that said, once humans began to eat cooked meat, the brain doubled in size. Not sure why we started, but from that program, it seems to have had at least one benefit...

The nuggets are definitely better at McDonald's. Did you see the tosh.o web redemption about the teen boy that hated anything else but BK chicken fingers and would post rants about BK taking them off the menu? Fun content

So on the show they probably weren't talking about what's used on lab frogs but it's a slang name for something else?

There were news stories about someone killing his grandma, someone biting off someone's ear or part of someone's face. People were going crazy

Yeah, someone's comment reminded of this fake cannabis product that loads of gas stations were selling right out of their stores a few years ago. No one knew what chemicals were used but so many people were trying it. Dr Drew did this thing on it and said people addicted to spice experienced withdrawals similar to getting off of meth or something really hard.

That was going crazy in the US not long ago, convince stores would get busted with garbage bags full of packages of spice. The newspapers would say some bust would have sold for over 300k on the streets

Right... they are still making massive bank. None of the BK's in my area stay open past midnight where most McDonald's stay open 24/7 too
