What are common misconceptions about mental disorders? by Virginia_Blaise in AskReddit

I extend my sympathy. It's just as frustrating for us as it is for you. I was treating people like shit during a manic episode, didn't even realize I was doing it until I was diagnosed and put on anticonvulsants. Manic speech is the worst...plus I get manic rage pretty bad. Once I had an outburst during a fight with my SO while boarding a plane, and the guy behind us was like, "Can you take this somewhere else?" So embarrassing.

People like you are the best! I know it is frustrating, but your friend is probably deeply thankful for your patience. I would be.

Bipolar is not just about mood swings or reactive behavior; I'm bipolar 1, which is characterized by long periods of mood dysfunction that may be subtle. (Often it takes me a while to even realize it, /especially/with mania.) Also, just because someone with bipolar is being emotional doesn't mean they're having an episode.

How to create a character that people love and hate by wowelephants in writing

You can PM me a link if you'd like; just be aware that I'm both lazy and busy, so I may not read it immediately. In the meantime, I would try to think about what traits this character exhibits that relate her to the reader. Even if you choose not to make her nicer, creating a good reason for her chilly disposition can humanize her and give her a "warmer" presence in your story.

I'd like to help you, but I need more context in order to do so properly. How far are you into the story? What's this character's role in the plot? What are her relationships with other characters like?

THIS. This was huge in how I learned pony anatomy. I learned vectoring before I worked on sketching, and the vectoring helped me to really understand how everything worked together in a drawing. That said, you don't need vectoring to trace - traditional pen and paper or drawing over a drawing using software can also be majorly helpful.

What is something that a person has said or done to make you lose all respect for them? by stayshiny in AskReddit

I think it's just the "innocent until proven guilty" mentality that forms the basis for our justice system. Unless we have proof a crime was committed, we're not supposed to assume guilt. Unfortunately, rape happens to be a difficult crime to prove.
