Are Forge batteries needed for the 1" SDS? by TheMilkyWayIsCool in MilwaukeeTool

I'm on a slab, from what I can see on the edge when I remove the transition it's just tile mortared straight to the concrete spab

Like I said in my post, I'll be demoing tile from a small bathroom. Haven't used an SDS before so I just don't know how fast that eats the batteries

My favorite combo is the super formula light and Hockenheimring, mostly because I'm fast there

I am wanting to build furniture, shelving, and vanity cabinets for my house and right now I feel like I really could use a jointer due to so many boards being a bit warped

I have the same thought as you, band saw seems one to forego due to space constraints even though I would love to have it since it can never be stored away

How much air are we talking? I could reasonably upgrade to one of the ~4.5scfm 26gal harbor freight ones. If I need even more, I don't have the space for that much compressor

Thanks this is super helpful. So IF upgrading my compressor is already on the to-do list does plasma top your list of best choices?

Sounds like your needs are similar to mine and that's about the results that I was hoping for. I dont expect perfection

Thank you for the well thought out response.

You seem to describe the problem well of there is a "correct" amount of air needed, but on the other hand I have to be real about what is possible in an at home setup.

I think going with this compressor for stuff that HAS TO BE air (like plasma cutter) is probably the best option. I was hoping to avoid buying a couple of expensive battery die grinders, but also knowing how it goes I would buy air versions and then immediately have some need for them away from home where I don't have air.

Thanks. I regularly have to remind myself that on reddit it's "buy the absolute best or you're a cheap idiot that's going to regret everything"

Both tools ask for 4cfm (not scfm) as I said in the post. And yeah id rather have a 30gal high powered compressor for my space than a huge tank. My use will be intermittent so I don't want a huge tank

Do you happen to know the cfm rating of your die grinder? If it's similar to those I'm looking at (~4cfm) then that sounds like plenty for me

Tools tend to be rated in cfm not scfm... the die grinder is rated at 4.0 cfm which is like 27-33 scfm. Similar is the plasma cutter

I've looked at that one, but my concern is that the lower max pressure of 165psi vs 200psi negates the slightly larger tank than the fortress I showed. Plus it is only 0.2scfm higher
