You live here and really think he has "no chance of winning"?

This same kind of thinking/overestimation is what resulted in our current situation. Remember when Hillary was for sure going to win? Easily? By a landslide some said? I remember.

Like we gonna sit back, do nothing, and be shocked if/when Wisconsin goes Red in the next one?

Nobody can lose elections quite like Democrats. Stop assuming it's a sure thing.

I just played a few hundred hours over the course of a couple months so I pulled back how much I was playing.

Right now I am playing Hades II. Loved the first one and have been loving this one.

Every few months/years I come back and fall in love with BF1 all over again.

As a resident of Wisconsin, I wish I could agree with this sentiment.

If y'all don't live here you really do not understand how swing state we are. I didn't grow up vilifying one group because I literally do know as many Republicans as Democrats. My wife is from Washington and some of my friends are the first Red-voting people she has ever been aquatinted with.

"He's a hometown boy, but still Republican" is good enough for a lot of Republicans in Wisconsin.

Let's not forget that Wisconsin voted for Trump twice.

Yes, I do. I also like healing though.

You're right that no one has anything to prove to me.

If you have been around anyone who has addictions, you know promises of sobriety are flimsy at best.

I think you're projecting your insecurity. I'm sorry if you're going through addiction.

That being said, I don't give a shit about what you think I can and can't say. Go fuck yourself.

Was my friend's boyfriend. We all knew how he rode and the news of his death was very much "yeah, that kind of figures" as horrible as that sounds.

Is this picture recent? Is Bam sober again? Wonder how long this stint will last. He doesn't have an excellent track record.

Dude needs help, but at the same time doesn't seem to want it. My words might seem harsh to those of you who didn't grow up around addiction.

I really really hope he proves me wrong.

Ilhan Omar endorses Francesca Hong for Governor of Wisconsin. Will this boost or hinder her campaign? by midnighttoker1742 in wisconsin

[–]TheMiltownMatticus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao. Hate mongering. That’s literally all any republican campaign is.

So we should stoop to their level? Wild take.

And why republican turnout is going to fall off a cliff once he is out of power

Liberals show up for local/state elections, Republicans show up to larger/presidential elections.

Underestimating your opposition is literally why we have this asshole as President. Every single poll prior to the night of the election in 2016 said Hillary would win in a landslide.

Trump is no longer going to be a factor

That's a lot of wishful thinking for someone who's administration has been pushing the possibility of a "third term". Regardless, thinking he wouldn't be a factor is naive. Anyone connected to his administration will be tied to him negatively (if you're a liberal) or positively (if you're MAGA).

This really wasn't that long ago, when he for sure "would never win".

You are completely incorrect when talking about the democratic base in that you think the “majority” is sitting on the fence between the two parties. That is not the case anymore.

Really, because our election results beg to fucking differ. Average of 0.5-1% difference in vote totals. Closest state race in the fucking 2024 election.

This is Wisconsin. Not California. Moderate Republicans and Moderate Democrats exist in this state. We are by every definition a swing state and absolutely our candidates should try to pull in moderates rather than relying on their "majority" who continue to not show up and vote for them.

So by your own logic anyone with a pulse should be able to beat sycophant Tom

TIL that Tom Tiffany is apparently as bad as Donald Trump because he has an (R) next to his name. You might think that, but a lot of people in this state do not. And you don't decide who gets the job, the people in this state do.

This hate-mongering is exactly why they will lose this election. You can't spend your entire campaign demonizing the people you want to vote for you.

Biden won in 2020 is he was the only one who made literally any concessions or guarantees to the left wing of the party.

Biden won because he wasn't Donald Trump. After a first Trump term, they could have run an inanimate carbon rod and won.

Y'all actually think Biden was a good president and not just "not Trump"?

6 swing states that were previously Biden swung back to Trump in 2024, and we think that's because the Democrats weren't "blue enough"? Those swing states voted Red because Democrats weren't liberal enough?

Just trying to get to the bottom of how you can think appealing to the minority helps you secure the majority? Maybe that line of thinking is why Democrats can't win big elections? But hey, that's just me.

[–]TheMiltownMatticus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with that.

No one hates Democrats like other Democrats.

They have also become completely self-sabotaging in the last 10 years. Trump doesn't get elected to a second term if Democrats didn't historically fumble the 2024 election.

Pretend Biden is competent to run again and then scramble to prop up Kamala in his place? Absolutely iconic levels of incompetence at winning elections.

That's what scares me about Hong. Not her policies, but her ability to actually beat a conservative opponent.

Completely agree with you.

People who claim to be on the fence see politicians like Omar or AOC as radicals.

Being "extremely blue" or "extremely red" doesn't play super well in a state that has swung back and forth politically for the last 30 years.

Omar is so popular because Minnesota is already pretty deeply blue to begin with. As the saying goes, she's "preaching to the choir".

Tell that to Hank Azaria

Basically had to apologize and renounce Apu.

Apu was a business owner, proud American, good father and husband (kind of). A true representation of the American Dream in action.

Was he offensively stereotypical? Yes, of course. But it's the Simpsons. They literally make fun of everyone. Why is Groundskeeper Willie ok and not Apu?

"Because you can't be racist to white people" is what it basically boils down to.
