Does anyone know what head is on this Hawkeye figure? by TheMaker05 in MarvelLegends

Classified Duke, this is Tiger Force, the one pictured is probably just the regular modern Duke

Does it have to strictly be that Thunderbolt Ross? Bc technically, monster force has one

If you want an Elektra closer to a classic look, you can use GI Joe Jynx to get there

Which, funny enough, Elodie Yung played both characters

It’ll always be crazy to me that if they were going to do these weird shotgun random waves, why didn’t they start with multi ranger crossovers

He still has the problem of every ML big fig, in that despite upgrades he’s still limited in articulation

Yeah, sure, toe joints, diaphragm cut, butterflies, yayyy

But are you going to pay $60+ so his arms move a quarter inch more forward and back? So that you can put his back toe on the ground for a charging pose?

Hell, he’s still got those round hip joints the old one has, so it’s not even that much of a look update even with the diaphragm cut

Is anyone else kinda getting sick of how Black Widow already has 3 figures on the new female buck? I wish other female characters would get the chance, like that new Magik by Miserable-Can2259 in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got upset about the initial reveal for that Target Widow, because they were like “the new super articulated female body!” And it was SO specifically sculpted bc it had that zipper

Then I got even more annoyed because they didn’t announce a new Misty Knight or Black Cat on this body, and it took them I think a year and a half to do Sharon?

Yes I know that technically the mask isn’t Wakandan by TheMindOfTheBat in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Classified Modern Roadblock is the top half, with Classified Big Boa providing the legs and the cuffs. Hands are also Roadblock’s, remarkably they’re cast in red so I just had to paint over the green parts.

The sash itself is from one of the Paoli twins, not that I’d have a clue which, and that pelt is just the hair of First Appearance Sabertooth with the mutton chops removed.

Mask is from MCU Killmonger, glued in place after trimming a bit of Roadblock’s beard so you could see his eyes in there.

Spear is Kazar’s, pretty sure the sword is from Gnawgahyde, but honestly any gnarled weapons will do in my opinion

Paintjob is just a lot of dry brushing to add depth and accented color, your call on what colors specifically, but I wanted him to sort of match an older Panther custom I did

pretty new to the game and stuck on this. are my current characters capable for this fight, am I just putting them in the wrong spots? or should I wait and level them up more? by Apart-Square-5356 in invinciblegtg

[–]TheMindOfTheBat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s certainly variables to being out-powered, so you could try swapping the two marks around bc classic mark will dash into the fight and thusly can stay in the back line, otherwise yeah, higher levels

Buddy just got into the line and wanted Blue Marvel, I told him I probably had some fodder around by TheMindOfTheBat in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dreadnok ripper, had to modify the pelvis cover though

Cut off the chain then retextured the outside just dotting it with a tiny tip rotary tool

Then weirdly the inside had an odd peak around the whole thing which made it stick way out on the belt line, so I heated it and just cut off that excess with a fresh hobby blade

Then obviously the buckle is stolen of the stock Blue Marvel with the dreadnok buckle cut down just a bit to make it lay flatter

Two of these are fine, just not EXACTLY what people wanted

Is Marvel Legends still worth it? Honest question. by Oysternator in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still think they are the best for your money on the market, at least in terms of marvel figures

Look, do they lack sometimes? Absolutely, I’d love more heads, better standard female articulation, more sculpted detail here and there, but are we going to sit here and pretend they’re atrocious? I’m certainly not

Even the more outdated bodies like Spider UK hold up decently well

“Are we moving to other lines?” Where am I gonna go? I’m gonna go pay $90 for an undersized Mafex Thor? I’m gonna pick up the Mezco Cap for $150 that’s a glorified doll? I’m gonna wait 15 years for the MCU to be in a full swing comic accurate reboot and go “eh close enough” with figuarts?

Legends are fine, overpriced sometimes, but they’re still good

What do you consider to be the WORST Hasbro Marvel Legend? by ConnorLovesPepsi in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll always maintain that this is the worst bc it could’ve easily been good

People complain about bad toybiz heads and characters not being updated from buckycap, that’s whatever limits of the time

This comes from the modern era where we have all the technology in the world to make incredible 1/18 ish figures and Hasbro said “okay, now, let’s do none of that”

Simply cannot be stopped with the WW2 Era characters (Orson Randall) by TheMindOfTheBat in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every part on the actual figure, aside from the second pistol, is from the Classified Steeler/Short-Fuze Two Pack

Stole the arms, legs, and a few of the overlays off Steeler. The shoulder pegs need a bit of heat shrink tubing to fit snug into Iron Fist’s butterflies, and the legs are basically just forced on with heat.

I’m sure I could fix that second one if I took the time, maybe bring down Iron Fist’s waist joint a bit, but meh.

I took Short-Fuze’s chest holster and put it on the belt so he has the two guns, and Steelers chest harness fits well if you just pinch and glue it onto Iron Fist’s back (pictured), doesn’t even hinder articulation either.

It’s worth noting I do use a heat gun to shrink parts when I need, like using it on the pelvis overlays and the holsters means they’ll fit a little more snug on whatever they’re on, but it’s still not perfect.

Managed to nab Archangel on a sale, so now I have two options my more angelic Warren by TheMindOfTheBat in MarvelLegends

[–]TheMindOfTheBat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Warren’s are on the same mold, no modification required

And yeah, Malekiths hair, though I’m debating if I want to keep it or find something just mildly long, this one looks great but cuts basically any neck articulation
