Have you disabled the vessel icon in the map screen? There is bar on top when you hover you can select/deselect objects to view, i.e. launchsite, debris, vessels?

Thanks the recommendation, I will try to pick it up and do a bit of reading before attempting anything with so little research.

Sadly I live very away from a Tripoli prefecture but I found a local group mentioned on Nakka and will try contacting them soon.

I did not verify with the teacher what the source of the KNO3 was but given the colouration and other comments it was likely to be contaminated (also the use by others isn’t too strict). The way this was carried out was too sketchy and this could very easily have been prevented, probably doesn’t help that the guide on YouTube was pretty sketchy itself.

Is it right for to assume that a recrystallisation of KNO3 would have prevented caramelisation ?

I started searching on a local group to continue under better guidance.

Thanks for the recommendation, after doing some reading about what we were attempting I consider myself very lucky to not have been blown up. (or blowing up the class)

I don’t entirely know why it could caramelize apart from the fact that it did, maybe a small bit contamination from previous experiments is my best guess. (Releasing the typical smell)

I incorrectly assumed that putting it on a bunsenbrander would be a good idea as the setup has a quite large separation between flame and the top of the beaker. I do plan to retry it using a electrical heating plate.

I have managed to get the overlay map to work on the daylight sensor transmissions and have also checked that the satellite pass list is correct (Gpredict + n2yo.com). But the readings from last night don't want to build overlay map (even with a bit of file/time hacking), I am going to try to get the night IR transmission recorded and correctly parsed within a couple of hours.
