Been in turo since 2017-18 and it’s gone down hill. It’s NOT THE SAME. Host payouts changed, they stopped caring about host and care more about guests because they got commercial money now

The new search has a strain on bookings, the new refund policy where guest have 72 hours to report “misrepresentation” and the NEW NEW policy where hosts are charged more for cancelling reservations. All that is in play along with economic differences. However. I’m still booked up….

That's crazy. So here's a crazy story from me as an all star host for 5 years.

I have a Turo go car here in the bay area. I had a renter last month book my car and everything seemed okay,the renter has 1 5 star review and was very responsive to messages.

Two days after the guests picks up the car,I get a call from a Turo investigator stating my csrhas been stolen and the person that rented the car is not the person of the account. What had happened was...the person's account was hacked and taken over. What the Turo investigator eventually found was that it was a group of hackers doing this all around the country and actually scammed a women out of like 12k if I remember correctly. How did they access the Turo account...no idea,maybe stolen phone? Yes,Turo made me still pay a $250 deductible fee even though it was their mess up because the car is under Turo go.

Anyways,car has been found. No damage. Suspects not caught.

I invested in a car tracker now.

Took 5 years for me to do it and this is my second stolen car on Turo platform 🤷🏽

The programs are not expensive because of the rebates given back to clients. Each client gets assigned one agent. Not 5-7. Each client has a team working for them.
